The Experience
Cinematic scenes of wild nature: zoom in to emerald valleys, rocky creeks, wide plains, and sunsets to the distant Montes de Toledo. The soundtrack is birdsong or waterfall; sunsets are spectacular from autumn through to spring. This new-build hotel stands secluded on the tree line of mighty Almanzor (the highest peak in the Gredos mountains), reached by a steep, sandy drive. Taste the view in the glass-walled dining room, where a reassuringly small dinner menu trumpets organic home-grown produce. In summer, tables spill onto the terrace. Pour a drink from the honesty bar, take a dip in a saltwater pool by a shady oak copse. Find eco-comfort at every turn: good sound insulation, warm marble bathrooms, a reed waste treatment pool, a biomass furnace. Most rooms have a private terrace and there’s a light-filled, fire-warmed sitting room. Exotic souvenirs from Sofía and Iñigo’s travels fire up cool whites and greys. The couple speak good English, are eager to please, can organise bikes, lunch packs or guides for the 12-hour hike up the mountain. And massages for those who wish to do nothing at all.

We stayed at Hotel Nabia for 3 nights in May 2019 and it was fabulous! We booked a terrace room, it was spacious, immaculate, huge bathroom and with stunning views. The area is sublime, real unspoilt Spain, delightful walking country, delightful towns and villages to explore. The hotel is a haven, lots of wildlife, wild flowers, relaxing areas to chill, a lovely honesty bar. We stayed for dinner every night and it was delicious, accompanied by a great wine list. Breakfast equally satisfying. I would highly recommend a visit!

Whilst travelling through Spain earlier this year we were lucky enough to have 3 nights at Hotel Nabia, we cannot recommend them highly enough. Having arrived at night we were not prepared for the spectacular, settings and views which we woke up to the next day, outstanding!! Sophia and Iggy made us so welcome, with their hard work and attention to detail they have created a haven for quiet retreat. Iggy's food was delicious, the best we tasted on our whole month long trip. Also his daily recommendations and hand written directions for walks, sights and trips were delightful. Absolutely superb

This place looked wonderful from its website but on arrival, the true beauty of the site and situation of the hotel was outstanding. We were in need of recharging our batteries and left feeling completely whole again having done little other than potter in the local town Candeleda, and visit some Celtic ruins not far away. The ambiance at Nabia is one of peace and tranquility. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Food and wine are delicious and taken on the beautifully lit terrace. The thoughtful availability of a picnic was genius - try the gazpacho!
