The Experience
Eclectic and creative; this village house oozes charm and the personality of wonderful owners Stéphanie and Ignasi sings throughout – it’s not your typical hotel.
Feast on meats, cheeses and breads to start the day – tucked up by the fire or outside on the patio. A two-minute stroll will carry you to the central square of this sleepy village – on Saturday, it’s filled with the sounds of traditional island music to accompany the vegetable and handicraft market. Take home a memento of macramé or a pair of Avarca sandals.
The whitewashed village is worth a wander but the real beauty is the surrounding nature – cycle or hike the majestic gorges, spying birdlife as you go. Walk the ancient path of Camí de Cavalls which runs around the whole island or hire a kayak or sailboat for water-based adventure. After a day breathing deep the town square boasts a selection of restaurants and bars – share a bottle and good conversation.

Location
The neighbourhood
Ferreries is well located to explore this beautiful isle. No motorways means the pace is gentle, if you’re car-less the bus links are great and you can hop on in a two-minute walk. Shops, restaurants and bars are a stone’s throw from your delicious bed. The port towns of Ciutadella and Mahón are less than 30-minutes away - head there for more of a hubbub. The coast is peaceful, varied, and picturesque: it’s best enjoyed on foot, bike or horseback.
Local points of interest from Stéphanie Mahé
- Ses Sucreres is located in Ferreries village, a small & authentique village at the center of the island, halfway from northern & southern beaches, from de Maó to Ciutadella
- There are many paths from Ferreries: towards Camí Reial and the Barranc d'Algendar and its legends or Son Mercer and its pre-Talaiotic village and its naviforme buildings
- Ferreries is an authentique village true to itself in summer as well as in winter. Small markets, concerts and other activities bring it to life during summer evening. Don’t miss the patron Sant Bartomeu celebration on the 24th of August ( Horse festival)
- An auditorium with a great program ( theatres, concerts…) , a library
- Our local shops and our friendly and good quality restaurants

Introducing
Stéphanie Mahé
What can we say? Stéphanie and Ignasi are Sawday's through and through. They’ve earned their hotelier stripes with a decade in service and a passion for hospitality and challenging the conventional. Each aspect of their ‘baby’ has been considered with its environmental impact in mind. They’ll recommend your new favourite restaurant and give you an insight into life on the island.
I had a wonderful stay at Ses Sucreres on my cycling trip around the island; the interiors have been beautifully designed and the vibe is calm and relaxing. Stéphanie was very welcoming and helpful and the breakfast was delicious; just what I needed ahead of a day of biking!
