The Experience

Sink into this dreamy rural escape in the Olba valley, surrounded by forests on the banks of the Mijares river. Silence, peace and tranquility reign supreme in this tiny hamlet of three lovingly restored 18th-century stone houses set in Los Estrechos del Mijares, a protected conservation area.

Big groups have room to stretch out in La Casa, smaller gatherings will be comfortable in La Casita, while El Ático is ideal for a romantic getaway or for couples with a child. All have forest views, comfortable sitting rooms and well-equipped kitchens where you can cook up a feast with fresh veggies from the organic garden and eggs from the free-ranging hens. There’s an outdoor terrace with a barbecue for dining under the incredible stars.

Deep in the forest you’ll find hammocks strung between the trees and donkeys grazing nearby. What could be better? Maybe some yoga or a wine tasting. This is a slow-living paradise. You won’t want to leave.

Reviews

You will feel like you are entering a fairy tale surrounded by the silence of the woods and the beauty of uncontaminated nature, pampered by the sounds of birds and the rushing of the river water.

Location

The neighbourhood

Nearby Olba (four-minute walk) has a small home-style restaurant. Rubielos de Mora is a few minutes' drive – eat at Los Leones or El Aljibe. In Mora de Rubielos, El Rinconcico and Masía La Torre are both good. The owners can arrange truffle and mushroom hunting, forest bathing, hiking, biking, climbing and canoeing trips, as well as cooking, foraging, painting, Pilates and photography classes.
