The Experience
Through the old door to monkey puzzle trees, pines, huge palms in pots, lavender and climbers softening the walls – it feels like a wonderful oasis in town. There are so many different areas to sit that you could chase the sun, or shade, all day. Find a covered outdoor eating area with arches overlooking the pool, a big Weber barbecue, outdoor kitchen and comfortable seating. Magical when candlelit.
Indoors you can choose between a living area with huge sofas and wood-burner, a separate TV room with corner sofa and TV, a dining room with a table carved from a single tree, and a well thought-out open-plan kitchen. Bedrooms, one off the courtyard with its own sitting room, are a good size with well-dressed beds and modern art. Shower rooms (the master has a bath too) are swell.
Cool off in the pretty pool, have a sundowner on the roof terrace with long views to the sea, walk along the road or beach into town.

Location
The neighbourhood
There's a bar and a mini market nearby, and it's 400m down a lane to a beach which is 12km long – you can walk all the way to Trafalgar Lighthouse. In Conil de la Frontera you'll find plenty of bars and restaurants, surf school, windsurfing and kite surfing. Hire bikes and cycle along cliffs and through forests. Vejer de la Frontera is 15 minutes, Tarifa is 40 minutes for boat trips to Tangier. Seville is a 1.5-hour drive.
Local points of interest from Andrew Platt
- Less than 200m to the local shop and bar, and just 400m to a glorious 12km beach that finishes at Cape Trafalgar. The beach has a good selection of chiringuitos and more formal restaurants, the exact number depending on the season
- It's a 2km stroll along the beach to the town centre of Conil, with its daily fish market and fabulous selection of tapas bars and restaurants
- Costa de la Luz waves are some of the best in Spain, and there is a choice of schools and board rental facilities. You can also rent bikes locally to cycle along the coast or into the pine forests
- There is no need for a car at Los Sentidos, but if you have one it is an easy drive to Cadiz (30min), Tarifa (35min), Jerez (45min), Seville (90min). And Tangier is just 1 hour on the fast boat from Tarifa.
- For twitchers, The Strait of Gibraltar is a major cross-over point on migration routes and Coto Doñana National Park is also close by. For walkers, there are local routes (Los Caños de Meca and Tarifa) and more challenging routes in the Sierra de Grazalema

Introducing
Andrew Platt
The property is manged by Andrew Platt, who has run his letting agency since 2006. He lives in the same ‘urbanización’ with his Spanish wife, and they could not be more helpful. Their aim is to help others discover the wonderful and relatively undeveloped areas of Spain that he and his young family love.
A wonderful spot for a gorgeous house and even more gorgeous garden. Just gather up your best friends or extended family and come for lovely walks, a stumble to the beach, days out in Cádiz or Seville, good restaurants and bars, an oasis in the town with a delightful covered outdoor eating area looking over the pool, huge pots of cacti and palm, and much comfort. A great holiday house.
