The Experience
Your little house is at the highest point of Medina Sedonia and has two terraces with views that reach as far as the Bay of Cadiz. Kirsty runs the hotel across the road, and you can use the swimming pool there if you like – the hotel restaurant is well worth a visit too.
Step off the cobbled street and into a small patio – you can bring a table and chairs and sit out here – with glass doors that cleverly let in light. Inside is modern, with Netflix on the TV and DVDs, books and games; find a welcome hamper filled with local treats: fruit, Serrano ham, manchego cheese, extra-virgin olive oil, Jerez sherry vinegar, pastries from the nunnery and a bottle of good red.
Sit back on a lounging cushion on the rooftop terrace and watch the sun go down over the town’s rooftops – or stroll down into town, about five minutes on foot, for plenty of bars and restaurants.

Superb, high-spec romantic bolthole for a couple to enjoy. If you ticked a box marked 'views' you will be amply rewarded. Everything in the house is new and the owner, having a compulsion for detail, leaves you wanting for nothing. Why not pre-order the G&T pack and kick off your Andalucian escape with pre-dinner sharpener before sauntering across the cobbled lane for a delicious dinner al fresco?

Location
The neighbourhood
The hill town of Medina Sidonia was founded by the Phoenicians and was later a Roman colony. It also played a pivotal role in Spanish history and the buildings are a delightful mix of baroque, neo-classical, Renaissance and even Gothic – Santa Maria la Coronada Church, next door to the house, is a fine example of Andalusian Gothic architecture. There are picture-postcard jumbled cobbled streets and superb views over to Cadiz.
Local points of interest from Kirsty Broomhall
- A sundowner on the terrace of La Vista de Medina. With its magnificent views of the historic town, rolling over the countryside and on to the coast, you will be watching the lesser kestrels fly below you as the sun sets over the Bay of Cadiz
- The house sits adjacent to a beautiful 16th century church. More like a mini cathedral in proportions, let the calmness wash over you as you sit in the pews gazing at the amazing stonework and architecture. There are 360º views from the bell tower .
- Wander 5 minutes from the house down cobbled streets to the main square for a tapas lunch. Packed with all the families at the weekends and in the summer evenings, it is a great place to soak up the local atmosphere and do a spot of people watching.
- You cannot come to this area without educating yourself on and sampling the local sherries. We are only 30 minutes away from Jerez, El Puerto de Santa Maria and Sanlucar de Barrameda. The 3 towns that make up the famous Sherry Triangle
- Just a 35 minute drive from Cadiz, the oldest city in Europe, this amazing compact little city has a wonderful relaxed beach vibe. Get down to the old Jewish quarter if you want packed bars and narrow streets or the beach of La Caleta for some sunbathing
- We are in a great strategic location to visit many of the gems of the Cadiz province: with sandy beaches, coastal towns, national parks and historic cities, all a short drive away. Meaning you can combine exploring with some deserved rest and relaxation

Introducing
Kirsty Broomhall
Having worked in the British travel and hospitality industry, Kirsty found her 2004 move to Andalusia an exciting and challenging next step. Proud to feel integrated into the local community, she heads a friendly Spanish team, and lives with her family next door. To her, the secret to success lies in the detail, and she makes sure everything is perfect for your stay.
As soon as you open the door its magic! In the morning after a wonderful quiet nights sleep in a very luxurious bed with lovely views you can choose to have your first coffee of the day in the sunshine on the upper terrace. The middle terrace is perfect for sunbathing and watching the very last of the sun go down. The cool inner courtyard with water feature was where we ate our lunches in the shade. We loved the quiet friendly village and found a superb tapas bar. You will get great advice from a very generous welcoming host. A perfect early spring break
