The Experience
Wine has been produced on these steep, stone-walled terraces for 2,000 years, and the views of the Pinhão valley are breathtaking. Wander down to Patricía’s vineyard, a 1km stroll. Pre-book a picnic, sample the wines, listen to the stories.
This old village house has been divided up into three rustic-chic boltholes, small but perfectly formed: ‘Franca’ on the ground floor with its private entrance, ‘Alfredo’ with a big view-filled terrace, and ‘Pedreira’, a compact studio with a tiny courtyard. Find hand-woven rugs on grey resin floors and a wonderful welcome basket that includes their own wines.
Pootle down the Douro on a traditional ‘rabelo’. Visit Lamego with its amazing hilltop shrine. Plan a day trip to Porto, a 90-minute drive. For first class food and wines, head for ‘Cacho d’Oiro’ in Peso da Régua, 35km, and the rustically stylish ‘Cais da Villa’ in Vila Real, 25km. Wineries abound!

Introducing
Patrícia Magalhães
In 2013, Patricia from Porto decided to swap the city for the Douro. In 2017, Patrícia found "two small vineyards belonging to the family of an accomplished and dedicated viticulturist, Mr. Alfredo." Now she is passionately producing red and white wines - and welcoming guests into her life. "All these processes - the vineyard, the wine and the people - are inseparable."
Absolutely delightful host and accomodation. The attention to detail in the quality of accomodation is excellent. Everything is incredibly well thought through with the guest needs in mind. Patricia’s recommendations on things to do and where to eat are also terrific. Make sure to visit the Morphosis vineyard. It’s beautiful and gives an amazing view over the valley. The town is a little rustic but lean into it and enjoy the views. The drive to Pinhao is a truly lifetime experience. We hope to soon be back.
