The Experience

You’re high up here, the air is fresh, views soar and sunsets will be sublime. In winter you can cosy up in front of the wood-burning stove after a day on the slopes – the living room is spacious and there’s a separate kitchen for sociable meals. In summer you can walk in the pretty mountains then watch the sun set over the Dolomites from the charming balcony, glass of wine in hand.

There are two double bedrooms upstairs and a quadruple – each with sumptuous beds, private bathrooms (two with showers, one with a tub and another with a Turkish bath) and more glorious views. The kitchen is large and bright with windows facing both north and south for all day natural light. You’ll find everything you need to cater for a large group.

There’s a restaurant, Lodge Alverà, just 500 metres away offering good traditional food and fine wines or it’s a pleasant 10-15 minute walk into the centre of Cortina D’Ampezzo.

Location

The neighbourhood

There is paid parking in the centre of town and here you'll find several independent shops, clothing stores and restaurants, an art gallery and of course wonderful bakeries. There are over 120km of nicely groomed slopes just waiting for you – runs to suit beginners to the more experienced and all with glorious views. In summer you can walk trails, swim in the lakes, picnic and admire views.

  • Lovat - A fantastic Italian bakery open since 1928.
  • Villa Oretta and Baita Fraina restaurant are highly reccomended.
  • Walking along the cycle path from the centre of Cortina d'Ampezzo.
