The Experience

You climb up a dirt road for several kilometres to reach this hamlet which has dominated the surrounding valley for centuries – Etruscan vases and other articles have been found on digs. Choose to stay in an apartment or one of the farmhouses. There’s plenty of space between their outdoor areas and ample gardens with private pools for each of the farmhouses. The sweet apartments have antique furniture and beams with brick or wooden floors.

Bedrooms have sweeping views, whether up in the hamlet or from the farmhouses looking over the valley panoramas and wooded mountains on the horizon. Bathrooms are well equipped – newer in the big houses, some with double sinks.

Stroll through the hamlet on its small roads where potted red geraniums jump from the green landscape with centuries-old pines, cypresses and fir. All have good kitchens and generous welcome hampers including your first breakfast. Join a cookery class in the big house.

Reviews

Very well-equipped and comfortable villa. Beautiful views. Lovely pool and garden. Very well looked after by Valentina and her team.

Liz, Darlington

We stayed in Poderino, which is beautiful, well-equipped and spacious. The views from the garden and swimming pool are absolutely stunning and are difficult to tear yourself away from. The quietness is astonishing, and was one of the things which made it a wonderful place to relax and switch off from the world. Valentina is a fantastic host, very welcoming and full of useful ideas and information. If you are looking for a rural idyll in which you can escape from the stresses of everyday life, you couldn't do better!

Sarah, Knaresborough

A wonderful place, an oasis of peace in which to immerse yourself to disconnect from the chaotic city life. We only spent a weekend in this magical village, but we will certainly return to enjoy other moments of tranquility immersed in nature. We thank Valentina, Piero and their mother for their hospitality and friendliness. See you soon!

Great stay for our whole family to explore and discover the Tuscany area. Many beautiful and interesting towns and villages. Valentina and Maria do everything to make your stay memorable and enjoyable. Lots of room in le capanne to spread out with lovely inspiring views. Everything for a comfortable stay is provided from throws to use on chilly evenings to the ability for washing some clothing and books on local things to do. You are sure to enjoy a very special holiday in this home.

We have visited Camporsevoli on two occasions- in 2011 and in 2023. Both visits were fantastic. We cannot speak higher of the accommodations and general beauty of the location. Valentina is an excellent host- she prepared excellent meals and hosted an incredible cooking class. Each visit has been absolutely perfect!

Over the years, Valentina and the entire Grossi family have welcomed us as one of their own. Camporsevoli has that timeless quality of being an oasis of peace. We fly in from Hawaii, New York and from Florence every year so that the family can get together and disconnect to reconnect. Can't wait for our 2024 visit! Tessa

We spent a multi-generational/multi-lingual family vacation in Camporsevoli, we've been planning this trip for a long time and it's been absolutely perfect! Ages went from 80 to 15 years old and every member of our group had the best time: swimming in the gorgeous pool, enjoying a cooking class for all of us, relaxing under the oak tree, touring towns. Camporsevoli offers the perfect location for many activities and for all ages! Hope to be back soon. Antonella

We LOVED our stay at Camporsevoli. It is the most enchanting village, perched on a hilltop with amazing views across the Tuscan landscape. It is well positioned for visits to Montepulciano, Asissi, Sienna and the towns and villages of Tuscany. We enjoyed making day trips, but equally just loved coming home to our comfortable and well appointed house. We loved the villa pool and the larger communal pool. Camporsevoil is tiny (10 houses including 5-6 beautifully converted holiday homes). The owners are super helpful too. Our 15-18yo children said it was their best holiday ever!

As you wind your up to the historic hamlet, all sense of time is lost and staying in the original centuries-old residences overlooking perfectly intact landscapes reinforces this sensation. Valentina and her welcoming family of three generations open their many doors of the property to guests sharing its illustrious past (don't miss the family museum), in a relaxed and regenerative setting.

Nicole, Sawday's Inspector

We have stayed at Camporsevoli several times over the years and got married there in 2018 with 90 guests. It remains one of our favourite places in the world. It is beautiful, peaceful, welcoming and we always look forward to going back. Valentina and family are wonderful hosts. Our favourite house is Le Capanne which is absolutely perfect for a group, but all the houses / apartments are lovely and so comfortable. The pool in the forest is particularly special. We will always return to Camporsevoli!

Location

The neighbourhood

Best choice for eating out is Ristorante da Nilo in Cetona's main square. Visit Miriam Caporali's Tenuta Valdipiatta for a cantina and taste the top rated Vino Nobile. Chiusi, of Etruscan origins, has a small museum with artefacts found in the tombs which you can also tour. In Città della Pieve you can see frescoes by Perugino.

Local points of interest from Valentina Grossi Orzalesi

  • Enjoy a Spritz (or gelato !) in San Casciano dei Bagni, from whose main piazza you can enjoy one of the most beautiful views in Tuscany
  • Get lost in Cetona: wander around the narrow roads that circle around the village, up to the fortress of the Rocca.
  • View Perugino's earliest fresco of the Adoaration of the Shepherds in Citta della Pieve. And have a meal at Coppetta's next door for fabulous pastas, meat but also just a simple pizza
  • Take a ferry from Tuoro or Castiglione del Lago to the Isola Maggiore on Lake Trasimeno. A fun day out for all ages onto a fairy tale mini island (has stores, bars, restaurants)
  • Climb - but you can also drive most of the way ;) - to the top of Mount Cetona, right behind us. Enjoy a uniqe 360° view onto southern Tuscany. We're Glad to help with guiding and pic nic if need be.
  • Bathe in the natural warm water brook of Bagni di San Filippo with its fascinating white calcareous formations
