The Experience
Views stretch for miles over verdant valleys and rolling hills (you’re overlooking Pienza, a UNESCO Heritage Site) from this working olive farm, family-run since the 60s. Rosemary-scented paths lead to the shared pool, a barbecue space and quiet corners where you can read a book in peace.
Seven rustic apartments, sleeping two to eight, fan out across the site – all with air conditioning, well-equipped kitchens and tip-top showers and some with interconnecting doors making them great for families. The feel is traditional, with authentic Tuscan furniture, original tiles, exposed stone walls and overhead beams. Each one overlooks more gorgeous countryside. You can book cooking classes, truffle hunting, wine and olive oil tasting, themed truffle-based dinners and lake sailing.
Wander over to the superb restaurant in the main house and dine beneath beautiful brick vaulted ceilings or on the charming terrace. Slow food is the ethos with fresh regional produce sourced locally for hearty, home-cooked dishes – all featuring their own olive oil.

Location
The neighbourhood
Just 15 minutes away is pretty Pienza, midway between Montalcino and Montepulciano. Lake Trasimeno is a 40-minute drive for sailing, walking and picnics. The Crete Senesi, 30 minutes, is one of the most beautiful parts of Tuscany, known for its hills, woods, and medieval villages.
Local points of interest from Andrea Godone
- The Crete Senesi are among the most suggestive locations in Tuscany. The particular conformation of the rolling hills of Siena and the unique atmosphere of the surrounding area have elevated the place to world fame, making it a popular destination for tourists and photography enthusiasts.
- Monte Amiata faces the rolling hills of the Val d'Orcia and the Maremma. In ancient times, it was a volcano, but don’t worry, it’s dormant today! It’s also the highest in Italy at 1,736 metres.
- Fattoria Bucanuova is a great stop if you like cheese - In here the speciality is Pecorino di Pienza, a pasteurised sheep's milk, calf rennet and salt cheese.
- De' Ricci Cantine is one of the most beautiful wine cellars in the world - Tours & wine tastings in a soaring underground space with vaulted ceilings & exposed brick walls.
- Podere il Casale, an organic, family-run farm located in the breathtakingly beautiful area of the Val D’Orcia. The property, located about ten minutes from the Renaissance town of Pienza
- Monticchiello is a hamlet that worth a visit, because is a medieval town surrounded by Val d'Orcia landscape. The Chapel of the Madonna di Vitaleta is a small and beautiful place of worship in the hills of the Val d'Orcia on the road between San Quirico and Pienza.

Introducing
Andrea Godone
Chef Andrea's grandfather bought and renovated the property in the 60s, building a thriving olive oil business that his father continues today. He loves to host theme night meals in the restaurant and his father organises sailing trips to Lake Trasimeno.
Renello represents the original idea of an Agriturismo – a working farm offering accommodation to guests. Over the years the family has tried to modernise and refurbish the Villa Padronale and more recently, the four cottages on the farm. The interiors are simple but still have a distinct 60s feel. The emphasis here is to give guests a pleasant holiday in unpretentious surroundings.
