The Experience
You won’t forget your first sight of this Tuscan villa, standing alone on top of the world. Alone but for the vast vineyards it oversees; this is wine country and the Castellani family have been in the business since Dante’s time. The current generation cultivate organic Chianti and they’ve transformed the villa and two cottages into supremely elegant apartments. These would not look out of place in an Italian design show, so sophisticated is their décor, so generous their space. Some apartments have mezzanine levels, others attics or terraces; yet others have jacuzzis and four-posters. The rooms are dressed in gorgeous fabrics and shades of soft ivory and latte, enlivened by splashes of aqua and Tuscan red. If the interiors are finely tuned, the views are utterly untouched. From organising wine tours and tastings to lake fishing and mountain biking, Michela and her team take care of you with consummate professionalism. Swim in the pool, fire up the barbecue, visit Pisa and the Etruscan coast. Fresh, stylish, memorable – a huge treat.

Location
The neighbourhood
Local points of interest from Michela Beltrami
- Poggio al Casone is central located to visit Tuscany around ; in less than 1 hour you can reach Pisa, Lucca, the coast, Bolgheri, Florence, Volterra and San Gimignano.
- Despite restaurant is not available on premises, we are glad to suggest several good "osteria" in the close by area. Furthermore a private Cook service is available upon request, book with the Chef a funny cooking classe at your apartment.
- Wellness and relax, for your body and mind... During your stay you can't miss a massage in the relaxation room.
- At Poggio al Casone you are welcome as friends of our family. Enjoy the real life in a wine-farm. You'll be surrounded by 40 hectares of organic vineyards and see all steps of the vinification, from the vine to the bottle!
- The region is rich in events and we always recommend an updated calendar of what's happening around
- From May to September a guided wine-tour and tasting is offered for free once a week

We were immediately impressed by the stunning location. The secure gated entrance leading up the long drive is lined with Cypress trees and the gardens are immaculate. The warm, friendly welcome we received from Marcella was a great start to our holiday. The apartment (Vigna Bassa) exceeded our expectations. It was immaculately clean and very comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped. There was also a bottle of wine from the vineyard as a welcome gift. Organic toiletries especially created for guests were also provided. We ordered the Italian breakfast on 3.
