The Experience
Slopes lush with olive trees and vines and the views reach across the valley to Volterra. Each of the apartments has been restored to ensure privacy and peace. Revel in it. When you’re feeling social – the pool area is shared with other guests and the BBQ can get fired for an alfresco meal on the terrace.
Fontemorsi is a bio-dynamic working farm complete with wine and oil ‘cantine’ – ask manager Maike to organise a tour. Day trips can be found in Pisa, Siena or San Gimignano. In walking distance is Montescudaio the ‘city of bread, wine and oil’ – enjoy a delicious meal or gelato wandering its streets. For sun and sand seekers – the beach is just 20-minutes away.
Your rooms have been designed with comfort in mind; wood floors, whitewashed beams and bespoke beds create a peaceful place to lay your head.
You’re at one with nature here – keep an eye out for the family of roe deer in the vineyards surrounding the farmhouse.

Location
The neighbourhood
Immersed in tranquil countryside yet only ten minutes away from the village of Montescudaio. Various delis, restaurants and bars fill the streets - take your pick and grab a glass of something chilled. The Maremma sea provides a lovely breeze, keeping the place fresh even during sunny summer days. You’re not far from 'cities of art' Siena, Pisa and San Gimignani for galleries, museums and culture.
Local points of interest from Roberto Ligasacchi
- The agriturismo isn’t far from 'cities of art' Siena, Pisa and San Gimignani, and its close proximity to the sea of Maremma and its archipelago of islands makes Fontemorsi a special place where you can spend a truly relaxing holiday.
- The Maremma sea also provides a lovely breeze, keeping the place fresh even during sunny summer days and at night and creating a pleasantly mild climate.
- A holiday at Fontemorsi provides guests a unique opportunity to experience a place at one with nature – it’s not rare to receive an early morning visit from the family of roe deer in the vineyards surrounding the farmhouse, built on a small hill.
- Despite being immersed in tranquil countryside, the farmhouse is only ten minutes away from the village of Montescudaio, typical of the region, where you can find various delis, a newsagent that sells foreign newspapers, restaurants and bars.

Introducing
Roberto Ligasacchi
At the heart of Fontemorsi is wine - really good wine. Carlos and friends share a great passion for the good stuff and have huge respect for the history and landscape of this beautiful spot. Whilst you call this place home, manager Maike is around to greet you, arrange winery tours and tell you where to get the best bowl of pasta in town.
The view from the back garden is spectacular. So is the position of the pool, I would have loved to have a dip on such a hot day. Getting to taste wine at an apericena (translates to drinks with tasty snacks) at sunset in the vineyard must be very special indeed.
