Your villa sits among olive groves and formal gardens just a stone’s throw from the city. It’s typically Tuscan with wooden shutters, large window and a turret above the third floor. Inside has plenty of room with many stairs, corridors and landings, perfect for hiding, a large dining room and a comfortable sitting room with sofas and fireplace.

Bedrooms, all but one with stunning views – the turret room has the best – are roomy and elegant with well turned-out beds, high ceilings and gleaming bathrooms. Outdoors a lawn curves around three sides of the house and an arched patio is lovely for outdoor eating. The pool is shared with next door Villa Fontallerta.

Cooks will be happy in the ultra-modern kitchen with a huge fridge and plenty of space for prepping and joining in, but you can visit a well-stocked wine cellar and eat in the family restaurant below you – Restaurant Le Lune, specialising in dishes with homegrown veg and meat from their farm.
