The Experience
Welcome to the Florence of southern Italy. A lively town with a generous helping of baroque buildings, the Lecce style is incredibly decorative. Wander out to soak up local life; the Basilica di Santa Croce and Lecce Cathedral are must sees and you’re close to the Roman amphitheatre and the Giuseppe Garibaldi gardens.
You stay in Geltrude’s sumptuous palazzo, it bursts with fine art, antiques and rare books collected by her family over the centuries. Original mosaic floors and frescoes have been carefully restored yet the feel is homely and welcoming: play the piano, listen to music, sip an aperitivo before wandering out for dinner. There are good places to eat within a few steps, your host can make recommendations.
Hire a car if you plan to head out of the city but you will probably be content to walk, eat and relax at this beautiful palazzo. There’s an apartment for four and five suites, a gorgeous courtyard garden and spa.

Introducing
Geltrude Guido
Geltrude was a journalist and worked in communications in Italy and abroad. She is well-travelled and takes great care in ensuring her guests are well looked after. The palazzo has been in her family for centuries and in 2015 she decided to renovate and open to guests. You'll be offered a drink on arrival, find a gift in your room and meet Mara, the resident cat, snoozing in a sunny spot.
We had a wonderful stay at Palazzo Guido. The Palazzo is steeped in the history of the Guido family; it is wonderful old building beautifully renovated and furnished to make it exceptionally comfortable and with attention to every detail. Geltrude is a wonderful host, her advice on restaurants, beaches, travel was extremely welcome and always very useful. Breakfast was a treat each morning with excellent service; we felt extremely well looked after at all times. Lecce itself is a delight and well worth spending time in. Highly recommended.
