The Experience
Through the olive groves to this white box-shaped building which once housed the farmer, his helpers, the animals and all their equipment. With high ceilings, white walls and antique family furniture, you’ll still feel the history. Bedrooms, two downstairs, three above and two suites in a separate building, have fine cotton linens, wrought iron beds and speckled marble graniglia floors.
Breakfast is served in front of a wood-burning oven, or in the citrus grove in summer. Try the local cheeses, caciocavallo or burrata with prosciutto and home baked bread. Fresh tarts and pasta frolla cakes wait for the sweet-toothed plus omelette and eggs as you please. Lunch is open to the public: traditional pastas, maccheroni with fresh ricotta and tomatoes, orecchiette with turnips.
Find a shady spot by the pool for a doze, wander the garden for figs, palms, almonds and prickly pears. Join a course, come in autumn for the olive harvest.

Location
The neighbourhood
It's quiet here, birdsong prevails. Stay in and learn how to cook, pick prickly pears or dance the 'Pizzica'. Lecce is 8km - hire bikes, it's quite flat - for Baroque architecture and Roman remains, shops, restaurants and galleries. The nearest beach is Porto Cesareo (30 mins) and it's half an hour to Gallipoli, an ancient city jutting into the water with a 16th-century bridge to the old town.
Local points of interest from Filippo De Raho
- Just 7 kilometres away you can visit the splendid cathedral of Lecce and its famous baroque style churches.
- If you have doubts about where to go to the sea, our farm is only 20 km from the Ionian and Adriatic coast

Introducing
Filippo De Raho
Filippo (the fifth generation of his family to be directly involved) looks after this side of the business on the large agriturismo which his father nurtures. The family has deep-rooted aristocratic origins in Puglia and their mission is to preserve the ancient traditions of folklore and gastronomy of this untouched area by sharing it all with guests. Filippo can organise a private guide.
Dive into the truly authentic world of the Raho family farm, where strong, ancient Pugliese traditions have been preserved and shared with guests. Guests certainly come away with a deeper sense of this territory, its culture, lifestyle, and incredible local products enhanced by the agriturismo's chef. The simple, old world décor of rooms is coupled with many hotel amenities and modern comforts.
