The Experience
The Italians flock here in August but foreigners have not yet discovered Peschici, so come out of season when the lovely beaches and fresh-fish restaurants are idyllically uncrowded and you can watch the fishermen sort their catch on the front. Francesco and Antonella’s 16th-century farmhouse is 500 metres from the sea: park under an ancient olive tree and climb up to the reception terrace to drink in the views. On another terrace, teak loungers flank a sparkling pool and the air is scented with citrus. The B&B rooms, some in the main house, some in an attractive separate building, are light, cool and simply furnished, with good little shower rooms. Family rooms have ladders up to childrens’ mezzanines. Your hosts, a delightful pair, vibrant and full of fun, have five hectares of olive groves and a big kitchen garden. The olive oil and vegetables supply their restaurant and the food is divine – hard not to love the typically Puglian dishes and the local wines. Breakfast on the terrace is a treat too, a wonderful start to a day among the splendours of the Gargano National Park. Fabulous for walkers.

Such a beautiful place - do not be put off by the selection of scruffy posters for restaurants as you approach Peschici. As the gates open on arrival, you are greeted by a hedge of fragrant rosemary and a quiet winding drive. Definitely stay for dinner - Antonella's cooking is wonderful - on our first night we had stuffed zucchini flowers amongst many (small) courses of mouth watering food. The staff are charming and welcoming and Francesco is a whirlwind of (quiet) energy. Highly recommended.

Another great recommendation from Sawday's, perhaps the best yet, great setting, a tranquil hideaway to rest on a long trip. We arrived to a wecoming glass of wine from Francesco, whose enthusiasm was infectious. Dinner is at 8!...he announced and it will be all fish!... Suited us and what a fabulous dinner on the terrace it was, a fitting way to celebrate a special birthday. Rooms rustic and in keeping with the surroundings, with all that you need. Fab pool. Wish we could have stayed longer but a family get together spurred us further south. Book with confidence, a real treat awaits you.

This is indeed a special place! My wife and I stayed for a week. The owners have created a lovely B&B amid an ancient, producing olive grove. The wife of the couple who own the place cooks the most wonderful dinners which are definitely worth reserving a place for. Best to have a light lunch though as they consist of four delicious courses. Rooms are simple and comfortable, shower & hot water excellent. The husband of the couple does a great front-of-house job. Highly recommended.

Location
The owners couldn’t have been more welcoming or more helpful, and the food was wonderful - delicious and home cooked, including as many cakes and pastries as you can manage at breakfast on the hotel’s lovely terrace. Recommended.
