The Experience

You’re in lovely Piedmont with glorious vineyard views. Doors and tiles have been reclaimed and walls painted in classic hues; elegant 1920s furnishings mix with unusual paintings and contemporary pieces; lights have been inserted into stone stairs, bathrooms have exquisite hand-made mirrors, and coloured candles illuminate grandmother’s cutlery.

Bedrooms are huge and two have balconies. Monica’s food is delicious, the breads and pastas homemade, the menus regional, the wines local; a sample of salami or a snack of crudités from the kitchen garden are yours whenever you like (do be aware this may not be the case out of season so check before you book). Breakfasts are served, when you want them, in the dining room or in the shade of a tree; in winter, logs smoulder.

Books by the score, a charmingly natural pool for swimmers and a bustling market town 15 minutes down the road.

Reviews

Last year, we stayed here for one night. Monica and Alessandro’s friendliness and hospitality demanded that we return, which we did this year. We stayed in their self-catering apartment for a week and occasionally took advantage of their breakfasts when they had B&B guests. The house and apartment have been restored, decorated and furnished to a really high standard and the contrast between old and new results in a relaxed and warm environment. Casa Isabella is set in the beautiful Piedmont countryside - so peaceful we were sorry to leave.

Steve, East Harling

Casa Isabella is a perfect place to get away from everything and relax. We hired the apartment for 12 days intending to use it as a base to explore the region but the view was so much prettier than most others we found that we ended up spending a lot of time by the beautiful pool, simply reading and enjoying the glorious September weather. The one "disappointment" was that Monica does not provide dinner in September but the very walkable local restaurant (Piazza Crova 3) was a good substitute. The apartment itself was bigger than it seems from the photos. Shower is large and bed king size.

Charming farmhouse that has been beautifully decorated. Very charming hosts who welcomed us, our baby and dogs during our road trip. They recommended a lovely restaurant in the town too.

Isobel, Cheltenham

A magical place, inside and out. Tastefully and creatively decorated, with every comfort. The pool must be 20 metres long and perfect to work off all those delicious high quality meals. We came back tonight and the bed had been turned down , side lights turned and our room had been tidied too. Alessandro is charming, and speaks fluent English , much better than my Italian. There was fresh fruit in the room, and a bottle of wine to geeet us and the sheets and towels and bed are all top quality. We can't wait for the breakfast tomorrow morning which we are convinced will not disappoint.
