Inside, you’ll find a unique blend of cultures and styles, from 15th-century features to Art Deco furniture. Bedrooms are boutique in style, but intimate, and with personal touches. There’s even a collection of novels to pore over, and restored antique furniture here and there to complete the effect. The en suite bathrooms are shiny-new with elegant cream tiles and fragrant bath products, and after you’ve scrubbed up, you can look forward to dinner, cooked by chef-patron Tim. Ingredients are fresh and local, recipes are too – along with a few far-flung eastern numbers. What’s more, a wood-fired oven and a local chef are to hand for pizza lovers! If you manage to tear yourself away from this blissful spot, there are guided walks, music festivals and local food markets to keep you busy all summer long.
