The Experience

From the pastel-hued exterior to the candy-coloured suites, each brightly themed around Italian flowers (verbena, salvia, menta), this place is joyous. The comfortable rooms are a mix of modern and antique furniture, all have a balcony or terrace (one even has a private garden) and the en suite bathrooms are a riot of hand-painted tiles and chandeliers; several have jacuzzis and all have generous walk-in showers.

While away an hour or two on the wisteria-laden patio or cool off in the swimming pool. Take a guided tour around the family’s nearby farm where they grow the produce served in the Michelin-starred restaurant, or learn the secrets of the kitchen in a cooking class.

The à la carte breakfasts are incredible – fully organic, from the coffee to the juices, jams and eggs on your plate. And not to be missed – a tour of the amazing wine cellar, with over 25,000 bottles quietly resting in what is said to be one of the oldest cellars in the world.

Reviews

This is an experience to be lived at least once in a lifetime. In this enchanting spot, you feel embraced by the purity of a place where time seems to stand still. It is a place that tells stories from the past, keeping up with the present, where what truly makes a difference are the people. With their hearts, passion, and professionalism, they preserve and pass down culture, art and hospitality.

Location

The neighbourhood

Sant'Agata sui Due Golfi is a quiet village, famous for its sweeping panoramic views and surrounded by hiking trails, which you can explore on foot, horseback or bike. The Path of the Gods (Sentiero degli Dei), which winds above the Amalfi Coast, is a 40-minute drive. The hotel can also arrange boat excursions or even helicopter rides to nearby Capri, Positano and beyond.

Local points of interest from Mario Iaccarino

  • Amalfi Coast with the beautiful Positano, Sorrento, Amalfi and Ravello. Only 45 minutes to Positano, 1 hour and a half to Amalfi and 2 hours to Ravello. Sorrento is the closest one at only 20 minutes away.
  • The famous archaeological sites of Pompei and Ercolano are around 1 hour and a half.
  • Capri and Ischia Islands are around 45 minutes away by speed boat.
  • We suggest beaches such as Marina del Catone, Baia di Recommone and Massa Lubrense.
  • Restaurants in Sant'Agata: Lo Stuzzichino and Mimi'. In Sorrento: Antica Trattoria, Ristorante Tasso, Soul & Fish, Vrasa and Il Buco. In Massa di Lubrense: Da Michele.
  • You can find stunning walks at Punta Campanella, San Costanzo, Baia di Ieranto, Baia di Crapolla and Sentiero degli Dei (Positano).
