Sawday’s & Good Energy

It’s more important than ever that we’re all doing everything we can to reduce our environmental impact. That’s why we’ve partnered with Good Energy, to help you find renewable ways to run your business. Good Energy have been supplying 100% renewable energy from a community of independent British generators for over 25 years. They are the only B Corp certified energy supplier in the UK, the only energy supplier to receive Eco Energy accreditation from Which? for three years running, they’re recommended by Ethical Consumer and Friends of the Earth, and have had their rates used as the Uswitch Green Tariff Gold Standard since 2019.

Like us, they want to form long-term relationships with likeminded businesses, creating a community that comes together to make real change. What do we get out of this? Nothing. There’s no commission for us if you switch to Good Energy, no financial incentive for us at all. Good Energy have great offers on renewable energy, solar power and heat pumps and we want you to know about them. It’s as simple as that.

Offers for a renewable future, from Good Energy

All these offers are exclusive to Sawday’s owners. Obviously, installation of a new heating system is more complex than switching suppliers, but the Good Energy team are on hand to talk through your specific requirements and which system is best for you. Their heat pump and solar panel systems are designed bespoke for their customers, avoiding the inefficiencies of offtheshelf systems offered by other providers.

Good Energy Tariffs

Good Energy freely admit that their tariffs are higher than some of the other big providers. This is due to their unswerving dedication to sourcing power only from a carefully chosen community of independent generators using sun, wind, water and biogeneration to supply electricity. They also match every kWh you use at home over the course of a year, as opposed to other renewable energy suppliers who use a certificate called a REGO to enable them to claim to be 100% renewable.

Because the way they buy power has been recognised as genuinely supporting the growth of renewable energy generation, their Standard Variable tariff is exempt from Ofgem’s Energy Price Cap, enabling them to do more to invest in new sources and raise the percentage of the grid supply that comes from renewables.

Alongside the Standard Variable Tariff they also have a fixed EV tariff and an export tariff called Solar Savings, where customers with solar panels can sell back the electricity they don’t use. At time of writing (Sep 24) the export tariff is 15p for every kWh. With the average household only using around 50% of their solar power, this could mean earning £240 a year. There’s also an exclusive rate for customers for whom they install the solar panels and battery, of 40p/kWh one of the highest rates available in the market.

Find out more about all their tariffs and see which one is right for you.
