The Experience

Come to meet Marie and Guillaume in their beautiful home in a wine-country village. Oriental rugs and fine antiques rub shoulders with contemporary art, and gorgeous books lie around for everyone to peruse. There’s a grand piano in the drawing room, heaps of CDs, bedrooms are sunny, beds have beautiful linen, new bathrooms are on their way and the garden is divine – languid terraces, organic potager, summerhouse, pool. Marie loves to cook, and great dinners are shared ‘en famille’ while the owners’ children play with your own. One of the best – and surprisingly close to the autoroute.

Reviews

We stayed at this lovely house enroute to Italy. Marylene gave us such a lovely warm welcome and we instantly felt we had arrived somewhere special. We had a very comfortable room and after a swim in the pool enjoyed a delicious supper in the garden with family and other guests. We would certainly like to stay again in the future. Thank you for a great stay.

What a fantastic stay in this impressive large country house in Lance. a delightful evening meal was provided by Marie during this memorable visit to this charming village close to Fleurie. Marie provided us with a locally inspired 3 course meal with local wines which we loved. Accommodation was spacious warm and very well presented. Our small dog enjoyed the grounds and he was made to feel as welcomed as we were. We will not hesitate in making this a favored stop on our way to Spain in future.

Marie and Guillaume are the quintessential hosts offering quests the benefits of a beautifully renovated manor house in a small Beaujolais village. Marie is imaginative, energetic, and animated as she recommends the best local restaurants and picturesque drives through the many Beaujolais villages. She enthusiastically talks about local history, the renovation of the house and grounds, music (she is accomplished on the piano), food and cooking, her vegetable garden and her chickens. A perfect spot to relax and tour the area.

Such a unique, warm and welcoming place to stay. Marie made us very welcome and was a genial host. Beautiful setting with attention to detail everywhere. Just gorgeous!

We loved it so much that we want to move in! The warmest of welcomes from vibrant Marie. A beer by the pool. A gorgeous room. Delicious dinner en famille and with other guests. Relaxed breakfast with excellent coffee. What more is there to want?

Marie, Guillaume and the whole family made us feel instantly at home in their beautiful house. Within minutes of arriving we were sitting by the pool with a beer in hand! Our room was comfortable, cool and stylish. Dinner en famille was delicious and accompanied by several glasses of local wine. We had a very convivial evening with our fellow guests and Marie who had a wealth of interesting stories to tell. I would definitely recommend Les Pasquiers as a stopover or place to stay and explore the Beaujolais wine region.

Greeted by our delightfully charming host, Marie on a very hot afternoon offered cold drinks a swim in pool, invited to dine ‘en famille’ with her equally polite husband and friendly daughter. We were made so welcome including our Labrador!

Absolutely fabulous!! Marie, Guillaume and their children were so welcoming and accommodating. With drinks on the terrace and a ride on tractor for our little one on arrival. The room was fabulous, well equipped including nappy changing and 2 baskets of toys for our son. Dinner was excellent. We would highly recommend Les Pasquiers. Thank you for our relaxing and fun stay over.

Marie and Guillaume Peyraverney are the perfect hosts and their house is stunning. It is tastefully decorated, large rooms with beautiful details and the grounds provide ample space for either letting your child run free or to sit back and enjoy a glass of wine. The bedrooms are spacious, well appointed and private. We had dinner with the hosts, which was wonderful. We stayed for 3 nights, I could have stayed for much longer.

After a long day's driving, Les PASQUIERS was the perfect tonic. Marylene welcomed us warmly and pointed us towards the pool. After a quick dip, drinks on the terrace followed in the company of a young, charming French family. Dinner followed in the company of Guillame and one of their children. Dining en famille could not have been more enjoyable, the food and conversation being excellent. The evening finished with Marylene playing Schubert on the piano, so atmospheric in their wonderful home. It must be so difficult to maintain such enthusiasm with all guests, but they manage it so well.

Charming hosts and a perfect stop-over en route to the Alpes or the South of France. We are a family of four and this was my children's first experience of staying with a French family. They had a lovely time swimming in the pool, eating en famille and watching DVDs in French. Marylėne's cooking is excellent. We will definitely be returning again to explore the Macon wine region!

Stephanie, Bristol

Absolutely brilliant stay on our way back to England from skiing in the Alps. The hosts, plus their four children, were all delightful and friendly. Super dinner with Guillaume, who speaks excellent English, and cooked by Marylene. We also enjoyed the piano playing! The rooms were very comfortable and quiet. Would certainly recommend this to anyone and will definitely stay here again.

Les Pasquiers is a lovely place to stop if you are driving to or from the south of France or for a few days wine buying! We revisited, our first time with the new owners, Marie and Guillame, who are charming and delightful hosts. They have already made considerable improvements to the house - Chambres de Jouet has been transformed into an airy, cool and spacious room, with dove grey walls which show off the beams. Marie's food is fantastic, with vegetables coming from the walled kitchen garden, homemade yoghurt and local cheeses. This is the best Chambre d'Hotes we have stayed in - love it!

Sarah

Having stayed at Lancie many times over the past 15 years or so we were naturally a little apprehensive knowing that there are new owners, but we had nothing to fear. Marylene & Guillaume are charming hosts, the welcome was huge and the food was delicious. Their children are delightful. We shall definitely be returning next year.

Maggie

Charming place, charming home and charming family. Marylene and Guillaume are the perfect hostess and hosts. Lovely food, fantastic breakfasts and home made yoghurts! We ate outside on the terrace on a warm August evening with 5 other guests and the Payraverney family. At the end of dinner we were entertained with a piano recital from Marylene and her eldest daughter. We promise to come back and stay more than one night next time.

Steve

We stayed at Les Pasquiers a couple of years ago and we loved it so much, this time we booked for two nights. The new owners Marylene and Guillaume with their delightful family are wonderful hosts who go out of their way to make you welcome. They have only just taken over Les Pasquiers but with their energy and enthusiasm they will make a huge success of it. The house and garden are beautiful and the pool is heavenly. Marylene is a fabulous cook using local produce, often from the garden, and we will have very happy memories of dinners on the terrace with Guillaume. Highly recommended!

Sue

Only 10 days prior to our arrival did the current owners take possesion. Marylene Peyraverney and her husband were wonderful hosts, nothing was too much trouble. Their English is excellent. Clearly the property has not received the attention of recent years that it requires. HOWEVER already sympathetic upgrading is underway. ( I understand that the previous owner became unwell). This is a stunning property with hugh potential that I am sure will be maximised by Marylene. We wish them all the best with their aspirations and wholeheartedly recommend a stay at Les Pasquiers.

Anne

This was our second visit to Les Pasquiers where Laurence provides a wonderful welcome and fabulous meals. She creates a relaxed and friendly atmosphere so that dining with other guests (of different nationalities) is a great pleasure. Very well appointed rooms in which one is made to feel very much at home. Her impromptu birthday cake (with sparklers) was a lovely surprise. We will definitely be going back next year.

Sarah

We visited this place at the end of our bed and breakfast vacation throughout France and it was a wonderful closing. Laurance is a remarkable woman who has managed to make her home to a platform to meet interesting people and to have all night long conversations along a delicious dinner And all this in a very charming environment. We liked it a lot.
