The Experience
It feels special arriving here at a deliciously cosy log cabin with a glittering lake in front and mountains all around. In summer, you’ll enjoy swimming and paddle boarding on the lake, walks in spectacular scenery, and in winter it’s a short bus ride to the ski lifts in Morzine or Avoriaz.
Park across the road then take the steps up to your chalet, about 50 years old but cleverly renovated with lots of charming touches: an L-shaped sofa piled high with cushions, Netflix and DVDs for rainy or snowy afternoons, maps and guides for wild swimming, hiking, biking and skiing. There’s a well-equipped kitchen, a dining table and a smart shower room with a polished granite basin and White Company potions on the ground floor too.
Take steepish stairs to your pretty bedroom in the eaves with a sofabed for an extra guest. Every window drinks in the magical views of a bird-filled garden that wraps around three sides of the cabin, the lake and mountains.

Location
The neighbourhood
There's a crêperie and snack bar over the road and three restaurants within walking distance. A ten-minute drive takes you to the heart of Morzine for more eateries and shops plus the ski lifts in season. Alternatively you can take the bus from the door (in season) which also goes up the mountain to Ardent. Spring and autumn are the times to come for superb walking by the lake.
Local points of interest from Jennifer Hill
- In the warmer months, take our paddle boards onto Lac Montriond in the early morning when it almost feels like your own private lake. Enjoy floating in the peace and stillness before returning to the chalet for fresh coffee and croissants.
- In the winter try ice diving in the lake! There are not many places in the world where you can try this unique activity. For those who prefer to stay above the water, take some of our snowshoes for an adventure around the lake.
- Before being converted into a home in the late 40’s the cabin was used as a hideout in the French resistance by the previous owners great uncle! Now lovingly updated to be your very own unique romantic hideaway.
- With three excellent restaurants on the lake, and walking distance from the chalet, there are more than enough culinary options for a long weekend break. If you would rather a cosy evening in then we can provide a raclette or fondue hamper to enjoy at home.
- Located within the famous Portes du Soleil ski and bike area, spanning both France and Switzerland, you are perfectly located for access to miles of ski runs in winter and hiking and biking trails in summer. The free resort shuttle passes right by too.

Introducing
Jennifer Hill
Jennifer is the operations manager for a local ski chalet business and understands perfectly what guests want: you get a local welcome hamper, paddle boards, beach towels, yoga mats and a porch for all your gear. Owning her own chalet is a dream come true for her; she lives with her husband and son 15 minutes from the chalet and always meets and greets you.
We recently returned from 9 days staying at the lake house and our stay was nothing short of perfect. The location right by the lake is stunning, such a beautiful view to wake up to each morning. There was a free bus that took us into town when needed, but there were also options around the lake to eat and drink at. Lots of lovely little touches around the house and garden to make it feel homely. Our days were spent strolling round the lake as well as swimming in it and making use of the paddle boards at the house, as well as enjoying nearby walks and the attractions of Morzine.
