The Experience
Step from the bustle of town into the cool quiet of the hall and this lovely big house – all yours. The sitting room has plenty of soft seating (both the apartments and the garden cottage have their own sitting rooms – perfect for those who prefer a bit of peace and quiet) and you’ll find board games, books and guitars for a sing-song. Double doors lead to the dining room, but mostly you’ll be eating outdoors.
Ancient Ginkgo biloba and acacia trees shade the pool, there are plenty of sun loungers and two large tables for convivial meals in the enclosed garden. Take a dip, have a snooze or hurl yourselves into pétanque. The kitchen is roomy enough for several helpers and you’re left basics in the cupboards plus a bottle of wine to welcome you.
Bedrooms are high-ceilinged, light and bright with calming colour schemes, well-dressed beds and linen curtains at the windows. It’s a short walk into Brignoles and you’re well placed to explore Provence Verte and the blue coast.

Location
The neighbourhood
The house sits in the middle of this busy agricultural town and close to its medieval heart. The Jardin restaurant nearby turns out good Provençal dishes. Explore the town on foot – bars and cafés, the museum of the Comtes de Provence, a master chocolatier and a bustling produce market on Saturday. The closest train station is Toulon and there are a few buses to Marseille airport.
