The Experience

This enchanting 200-year-old farmhouse is earthy, stylish and magical, and is bordered on one side by a stream. You are wrapped in ten acres of countryside. Rows of lavender run along one side of the pool while on the other a tunnel of wisteria leads down to a sun-trapping terrace. The interior is equally satisfying. Walls are washed in traditional colours, there are old beams and a big arched window gives onto the terrace.

Bedrooms are in the main house, all with views, or in the new annexe sleeping four, overlooking the gorgeous gardens and pool. Lovely to have a sundowner here after an active, happy day and you’ll find some local wine waiting for you in the kitchen. You are in one of the loveliest parts of the Var and villages here have musical events running throughout the summer.

The garden is vast and alternates large areas for children to play with peaceful corners for a quiet read.

Reviews

La Ferme de Guillandonne is a stunning property in a striking setting. The house and grounds have been converted/designed in an exceptional way – the use of so many ‘earthy’ materials and colours, the natural light displays in the house. When in or around the gorgeous pool there is a beautiful scene in every direction with interesting plants, trees and even a rustic, well positioned table and chairs, all just begging to be photographed. The local area and hill-top villages are beautiful but this property is the real star and appeals to all the senses. Thank you Marie-Joëlle and Max for it all.

A comfortable house oozing with charm and character in a magically beautiful and authentically Provençale setting: my idea of bliss!

Denise, Sawday's Inspector

Fabulous relaxing holiday around the pool - just what we needed! Very private location but only a stone's throw from shops & restaurants etc. Proprietors gave us a warm welcome and showed us round the superb accommodation and couldn't have been more helpful during our stay - we can't wait to come back again in 2022!!

Location

The neighbourhood

You're in your own 10 acres of parkland and meadows with a stream. The nearest shops are in Fayence, about 1km away. It's renowned for its fabulous market on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings. You can walk in half an hour but it's quite steep. There's also a fabulous antiques market several times a year. Hilltop Tourrettes has two good restaurants, La Vigne Vincent and La Pause Tourrettane.
