The Experience
This elegant B&B is made up of typical Provençal stone houses, one the bastide, one a former sheepfold, surrounded by a large fenced garden and three hectares of woodland. It’s utterly peaceful here, the only sounds being the rustling of leaves and birdsong.
The interiors have a tranquil, Scandinavian feel – your hosts, Teis and Christel, are Danish. Bedrooms are spacious with lovely views, and a guest sitting room has a fireplace, books, games and toys. Breakfast is wonderful: local, organic seasonal fruit salad, muesli, eggs, bread and pastries; ask about picnics and Teis’ three-course dinners served under the branches of an enormous tree or in the dining room.
There are countless hiking and biking trails starting on your doorstep and bikes can be rented locally, or there’s canyoning and kayaking on the Verdon River (half an hour by car). Typical Provençal hill villages, beginning with Bargemon itself, are close at hand, and the coast is 45 minutes away; Nice is just over an hour.

The most incredible 3 night stay at Ferme la Pavillon. My favourite place I have ever stayed! The setting is idyllic, the house is beyond beautiful and the food throughout was outstanding. Christel and Theis were such welcoming and relaxed hosts and made us feel like we were at a home away from home. Will most definitely be coming back!!

We have loved our stay with Teis and Christel such natural hosts. The setting is beautiful, interiors very stylish and clean with the luxury of having a fantastic film breakfast each day such a holiday treat! You must stay long enough and plan on eating dinners there as they are really very good - best food we have had on our holiday. Very fresh and seasonal. The biggest perk for us though was the family friendly set up. Pool, trampoline, lovely children to play with, plenty of grass and space in woods to play. Very well behaved dogs and cats too thrilled our twin boys age 8. We will be back!

Yep, the Sawday's inspector got it spot on. We visited for 5 nights in October and the location is utterly tranquil, the house truly beautiful, the interiors stylish and the food fabulous. We were lucky with some warm sunny days and my son even took a dip in the pool! If you need to wind down, this is the spot.

Location
The neighbourhood
The B&B is on high forest-covered land, interspersed with wide open fields, on the edge of a 40 square kilometre wilderness known as the Plateau de Canjuers, which ultimately leads up to the Gorges du Verdon. Bargemon, a 10-minute drive away, has plenty of restaurants, cafés and food shops. There are excellent restaurants in Callas and Clavier, both about 15 to 20 minutes' drive away. Provençal markets are abundant here - head to Fayence's on Saturday, Tuesday and Thursday, as well as Lorgues' on Tuesdays.
Local points of interest from Christel Nellemann & Teis Munk
- Gorges du Verdon is the biggest canyon in Europe and definitely worth a visit. With its chrystal clear water and massive rock formations it is an impressive natural phenomena. You also have the beautiful lake Saint Croix where you can swim, paddle and cano
- Bargeme is a 30 minutes drive up hill into the low mountains, that are so special for our area. You drive from the green Provence into a rough, rocky landscape. If you’re lucky you see big eagles and vultures hovering the blue sky.
- Chateaudouble is bordering the gorge of Chateaudouble and hangs on to the cliffside overviewing a small gorge. I love it. It is tiny, it is local, full of cats, quiet and beautiful. Walk to the top, where the cemetery full of ceramic flowers is placed.
- Callas is our big brother village. They have a lovely market on Saturdays on the square, a great bakery, a lovely wine bar in the main street, where you can sit and see life pass by while enjoying a glass of rosé and some charcuterie.
- Claviers is a charming village lying on the edge of a hilltop. The locals play boule in a nice, provencal pace always with a pastis within an arms length. Go there to enjoy your coffee in the morning sun or a lunch on the square.
- Seillans has the label ‘les plus beaux villages de France’ meaning it’s a little bit prettier than the rest. It has a really well kept centre with beautiful, old townhouses. You find a lively square where people are seated around a magnificent fountain.

Introducing
Christel Nellemann & Teis Munk
Christel and Teis, the enagaging and remarkable young owners, live in one of the houses with their two children and pets. Teis has a background in cooking and catering and Christel was fomerly a social worker. Teis was keen to get back into food so the couple took a leap of faith, sold their apartment in downtown Copenhagen and moved to France. They found the Ferme du Pavillon with the help of a local friend, rolled up their sleeves and got to work, restoring and renovating the property into an incredibly special and welcoming place.
Nestled in between medieval hilltop villages le ferme Pavillon is a beautiful restored farmhouse just outside Bargemon. It offers complete calm and peace. Teis and Christal are perfect hosts. Teis produces excellent and original dinners and Christal makes you feel at home. For us it was the perfect place to relax and unwind for a week
