The Experience
A grand Mediterranean villa that looks so settled in Nice’s lush western hills you’d never know it was a 21st-century creation. There are balustrade-edged terraces, panoramic views and a blissful pool. Bedrooms above the pool house have a zen-like calm: four-posters draped in muslin, teak floors, white walls; orchids and silks hint at the exotic. The Lavender Room in the main house opens to the garden and is as feminine as the rest.
You take breakfast on the terrace by the pool: freshly-baked pastries, eggs, charcuterie, cheeses and homemade jams and pannacotta. You’ll also find a pool house here with fridge, fully-fitted kitchen and oven should you wish to cook for yourselves – everything is easy-going here and Nathalie, the perfect host, kind, gentle and generous to a tee, delights in juggling family life with her B&B.
Find a quiet spot in the garden with a book and admire the views, Nice is a 10-minute drive down the hill.

We had an amazing time at Villa Kilauea. Nathalie & Gérard were great hosts and so helpful with suggestions for dinner and making reservations - whether for dinner or for sunloungers in beautiful Cap Ferrat. The house is gorgeous - our room was so comfy, beautifully cool and spacious - and we loved the pool and pool house, and the terrace was a wonderful place to sit for breakfast or to enjoy a cold glass of rosé or a beer at sunset. Some great cycling routes nearby too! Fabulous.

Location
The neighbourhood
You're in a quiet residential area with plenty of places to eat nearby. The Hôtel Auberge du Redier is a two-minute drive and serves traditional French food. L'Elément, in the heart of Bellet also offers pick-ups and drop-offs for the villa's guests. For local food try Chez Cane five-minute drive. There is much wine tasting to be had in the hills above Nice - explore the city - museums and the sea.
Introducing
Nathalie Graffagnino
Nathalie used to be a financial director of a drinks distributor in Monaco and her husband, Gérard was an engineer. They gave it all up to construct and run this large B&B in the hills to the west of Nice. They have a black cat called Bagheera.
The views of the villages across the Var valley are fantastic and it's a relaxing, homely place to stay combining modern elegance with a great infinity pool, sun loungers set in s garden of vines and olive trees. It's a unique part of Nice - Bellet, where the hillsides are covered in vines within an urban area.
