The Experience
A listed monument and beautiful manor are linked to create this handsome 4-star hotel, close to the harbour. An ornate iron staircase sweeps you up to big, light bedrooms which overlook the courtyard or face the magnificent gardens. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly – it has a family-run feel and you’ll receive a warm welcome from Florence and her team.
Jasmine, honeysuckle and orange trees scent the air outside. Relax in the garden or find the spa with massage room, jacuzzi, sauna and small pool – perfect for a spoiling weekend. Sip on aperitifs in the bar afterwards and enjoy a concert in the summer months.
Breakfast is plentiful: choose from freshly squeezed juices, fruit baskets, eggs, smoked salmon, charcuterie, pastries, fresh yogurt and local jams. Sunday brunches are served from May to September. Head out on 80 miles of cycling paths – an hour to Les Portes-en-Ré – or simply relax at the beach a 20-minute walk away.

I dream of staying in the "Sevigne" room - an amazingly untouched listed c18th interior with the panelling and faded paint intact. This hotel has been crafted from two mansions in the middle of the utterly charming town of St Martin en Re, just a few steps from the port and a short drive to the beaches. A perfect address in a perfect seaside destination.

This is the nicest hotel I have ever stayed in - absolutely beautiful historic old house and walled garden, delightful staff, elegant rooms - well appointed but still with a feel of being in someone’s home rather than a hotel. Breakfast in the sunny courtyard with roses and hollyhocks all around and just a stones throw away from the stunning port of St Martin - it is idyllic.

Our second time staying here having enjoyed it so much last year came back with the family for an extra few nights - the staff Joachim & Fanny in particular couldn't be nicer or more helpful - breakfasts are lovely - gardens and bar truly quaint and the location is brilliant - only negative is WiFi/ phone signal is poor but other this would recommend highly

Location
The neighbourhood
You're set back from the busy street through big wrought-iron gates; the hotel feels peaceful but it's close to the bustle of Saint-Martin de Ré port - the town teams with galleries, restaurants (Le Bistrot du Marin serves great entrecôte steak), bars and atmosphere. Stroll 20 minutes to UNESCO World Heritage listed Vauban fortifications or 10 minutes to La Cible beach for water sports.

Introducing
Florence Pallardy
Warm and welcoming Florence, the ever-attentive owner, knows her island well: its nature, history, beaches, cycle paths, sand dunes and pines. She helped lead the rise in St Martin's popularity and has poured all her energy into making the abandoned historic monument a successful hotel for over 20 years.
Firat time visiters to Ile du Ré and we will definitely come back. What made our experience excel all expectations was the lovely hotel La Baronnie. We stayed for two nights and enjoyed our wonderfully comfortable superior room, fantastic surroundings, great breakfast, bar and lovely and helpful staff. We will come back!
