The Experience

Ressons is home to a warm, dynamic, intelligent couple who, after a hard day’s work running this big farm (Jean-Paul) or being an architect (Valérie) and tending three children, will ply you in apparently leisurely fashion with champagne, excellent dinner and conversation; they also hunt. The deeply carved Henri III furniture is an admirable family heirloom; bedrooms (two en suite) are colour-coordinated, views roll for miles and sharing facilities seems easy. A house of comfort and relaxed good manners (smoking is in the study only), whose decoration and accessories reflect the owners’ travels.

Reviews

We had booked a one night stay to break our journey through France but Valerie was such a wonderful host and cooked us such a superb dinner, we booked another night for our return journey. The new 2 bedroom accommodation was immaculate and beautifully done.

John, Bury St Edmunds

Excellent. The two bedroom gites at Ferme de Ressons is excellent and finished to extremely high standards. We stayed one night and really enjoyed it. Valerie was very welcoming and cooked a wonderful evening meal for us. We then all sat down together to watch the rugby world cup final! Thank you

Nigel, Buckland Village

We stayed on the first night of our holiday and the last, 21/06/2022. Valerie we understand has been widowed for two years. Valerie is a very sociable hostess, (but speaks no English), the house is beautiful and the bedroom was most comfortable but best of all she is a superlative cook.

Jill and Michael, Etchingham

We were greeted by Valerie who invited us into her beautifully furnished farmhouse home and gave us a most welcome cup of tea. Each bedroom led onto a terraced balconey with the most extraordinary views of the surrounding countryside made even more dramatic when viewed under a clear sky covered in stars, at sunset and again at dawn. The home cooked meal following a glass of champagne was superb and we spent a most peaceful and comfortable night. Valerie was a most thoughtful and interesting hostess. Though slightly off the beaten track, we strongly recommend visiting La Ferme Ressons

Peter, London

We have been staying here for stopovers for around 16 years and still love to return. It is a peaceful character family home with plenty of privacy. Recommend having Valerie’s three course home cooked evening meal, which at €70 for three adults including a bottle of wine is excellent value for money. Dinner is always preceded by Jean-Paul sharing a bottle of champagne in the drawing room, and this is at no cost. Don’t even think about it, just book and see for yourself!

Carol

Valérie and Jean-Paul made us feel part of the family in this wonderfully traditional French home. The views from the farm house are stunning and there is so much space both inside and out. I recommend you opt for the dinner and spoil yourself with local Champagne as Valérie is a wonderful cook, it is some of the best home cooked food I have ever had. This is a fantastic region of France an easy weekend away from Southern England and the Ferme de Ressons is the place to stay to immerse yourself in French tradition and culture.
