The Experience

A fresh modern house under a steep slate roof in a lush green sanctuary; it could not be more tranquil. The garden really is lovely and worth a wander – a tailored lawn, a mass of colour, huge banks of rhododendrons for which the village is renowned (three of its gardens are open to the public). Claudine runs home and B&B with effortless efficiency and gives you homemade brioches for breakfast; smiling Remi leads you to guest quarters in a freshly wood-clad house reached via stepping stones through the laurels. Bedrooms are comfortable, sunny, spotless, shining and utterly peaceful – two are big enough to lounge in, the little annexe is offered as self-catering.

Reviews

A very comfortable stay. Room was perfect, and the surrounding garden was beautiful. Claudine was very welcoming and helpful. Hope we can re-visit.

Kate, London

A wonderful one night stay here before catching the ferry. Such a huge and comfortable apartment, very peaceful, amazing gardens and a delicious breakfast in the conservatory. Claudine and her husband are delightful. Would definitely hope to return and thoroughly recommend it.

Rosemary, Cambridge

We had a lovely one night stay in Claudine's very comfortable apartment - and enjoyed a superb breakfast in the conservatory overlooking her beautiful garden. The house is in a very picturesque village and extremely well situated for the Dieppe/Newhaven ferry. Would definitely return here to explore more of the area, which appears to have a lot to offer.

Graham and Kate, Carnforth

We stayed in the gite, downstairs, amongst the rhododendrons and greenery. As it was April the flowers were not yet open but provided a lot of privacy and peace. We cooked for ourselves using the more than adequate facilities and the space suited us very well. Having a separate bedroom was good, as well as the separate loo. We sat on the terrace or drove out to see the local sites - Varengeville is a gardener's paradise!

Gillian, London

If you like gardens and flowers a great place to stay. Bois de Moutiers and Shamrock Gardens are close by and there are lots of places to eat. Friendly and helpful owners. I left with tips on growing hydrangeas and cuttings. a good place to visit.

Jocelyn, Stockport

This is a wonderful place run by a charming owner, Claudine. Try and visit when garden is in bloom. Ask for a map, we got lost.
