Domaine de Ravenoville

In a small village is a restoration of a manor house, a pavillion, the old stables and a pigeonnier. Impeccable but homely, Le Manoir reveals an effortless blend of modern comfort and period style. Light floods into the salon and to the east there’s a distant sea view. Le Pavillon is separated into two apartments (taken separately or together) and in the quirky Pigeonnier, with a tight spiral stair, the style is ‘handsome hunting lodge’. L’Ecurie, the old stables, is open plan, big and airy.

Each house has its own small garden and all are welcome on the large lawn with tables, chairs and deckchairs. Kitchens have everything a cook could want and you’ll find a generous hamper of local produce and a bottle of estate olive oil. Breakfast can be ordered and a chef for evening meals.

Borrow bikes, sail, swim, hike along the coast (you’re just 3kms from Ravenoville’s hut-lined sands). Birdwatch in the ‘marais’, dine out in Sainte-Mère-Église. Return to much comfort.
