The Experience
Vibrant Kim will meet you in St Antonin, the nearest village, then get you settled in. She also leaves you a welcome hamper with wine and all the basics in the cupboards. If you know you’re going to be arriving late and you’d like her to make sure there is something for dinner waiting for you, just ask. Cook indoors with all the kit you need or use the outdoor kitchen by the pool where you’ll also find a barbecue and grill.
It’s a gorgeous place to do nothing more than sunbathing, reading or snoozing by the pool. But there’s much sporty fun to be had too without getting in the car – wild swimming, rock climbing, hiking and biking, so pack up a picnic and head out. Walk into town in five minutes for shops, restaurants and a lively market.
In spite of the other houses dotted about nearby you’ll feel very private, and teenagers can cut themselves off in one of the downstairs bedrooms – it’s a perfect house for different generations holidaying together. You won’t find many tourists either so driving around to see things will be a pleasure.

We stayed here for a week in September and are just back. When I saw Roc introduced as a new property on Sawdays I knew we just had to stay there. Such an interesting property so creatively and vibrantly decorated. Wonderfully located on the edge of St Antonin Noble Var - so secluded and private, with a view onto trees, the gorge and the river and the joy of hearing the birds sing and squabble throughout the day. Yet still close enough to stroll into the town for local activities. The pool is wonderful and warm - unfortunately the weather not good enough during our stay to use it fully.

Location
The neighbourhood
The countryside around the house is stunning and there are many walking trails, including one into town - head in on Sunday for the picturesque market. By car you can visit gorgeous medieval towns for markets and chateaux, including Bruniquel (15 minutes) which also has a music festival. Penne (15 minutes) is also a beautiful village with a château hanging over a rock and Cordes-sur-Ciel is one of the loveliest villages in France (30 minutes). Further afield, Villefranche, Albi and Toulouse are well worth discovering.

Introducing
Kim Ilsley
Kim is an artist, trial runner, Pilates teacher (ask if you’d like lessons) and keen upcycler. She and her partner Andy, an environmental consultant and archaeologist, have become very much a part of the community since buying their places here, with their children at the local school. Kim can arrange all sorts of extras, including airport pickups, picnic hampers, and art or cookery lessons.
This was a fabulous holiday. The gite was everything we had wanted and more. The design very creative but at the same time warm and comfortable, loved the circular bed, esp with stunning views. The log fire warmed the whole house up and thanks Kim for the arrival hamper which was well appreciated. Walking distance to town so we left the car and visited the many cafes . A real holiday cant wait to go back and see it in springtime . Manys thanks
