The Experience
Find elegant rooms in one wing of this handsome old family house, a lovely blend of old and new. You’ll receive a great welcome and generous hospitality from Laurence and Guillaume – but you can also find complete privacy if you prefer.
Laurence’s dinners alone are worth the visit; then there’s the fine heated pool on the olive-studded terrace, the rose garden and Italianate formality rolling past walnut groves. Organise yoga sessions or a massage in the grounds and learn to cook traditional fare with a local chef. Breakfast in or out on homemade jam, local bread, fresh pastries, and fruit juices.
Beyond the gates find beautiful Lot countryside, gastronomy and wine, old villages and unmissable Cahors (10-minute drive); enjoy bustling markets on Wednesdays and Saturdays, an unusual cathedral, medieval streets lined with independent shops and the beautiful 14th-century Pont Valentré.

On the doorstep of historic, fascinating Cahors yet a haven of tranquillity, where you will feel cosseted in a historic house of architectural interest and great comfort. The house oozes history and sits at ease within its extensive grounds. The vineyards may have gone, but be assured the Bardin's will be excellent guides to the local wines and where to enjoy them with local produce.

We stayed in a gîte on this property for 4 nights and it was a highlight of our trip to France. The accommodation is of a very high standard with everything we could want for a memorable stay available in a beautiful country setting close to Cahors. The pool was lovely, the bbq an unexpected addition and the hosts so very welcoming and helpful. A perfect haven after busy days exploring some of pleasures the south west has to offer.

Staying at Domaine de Labarthe was a highlight of our trip to this beautiful region of France. From the outset Laurence and Guillaume were charming and accommodating hosts. Check in early? No problem. Early breakfast? Freshly baked croissants and some for the road as well. The characterful old buildings have been elegantly restored and set in beautiful grounds. We were lucky enough to have the pool and outdoor kitchen to ourselves and enjoyed a barbecue as the sun set. Baked apple with warm brioche for breakfast by the pool rounded out a fabulous stay. And how could I forget the dogs!

This is a lovely B and B. There’s also a small self catering cottage. Everything is spotlessly clean, with lovely quality bed linen and towels. It’s tastefully decorated and furnished, in an attractive peaceful location. The hosts are very welcoming and helpful. We highly recommend Domaine de Labarthe.

Great location, wonderful rooms, excellent breakfast. Very friendly and helpful hosts. Furthermore we enjoyed the pool, the garden and especially the barbecue area which can be used by the guests. Conclusion: probably the best spot we have experienced in France.

A gem of a place. Laurence and Guillaume were most welcoming. We had 7 of our best nights of many in France during countless holidays at this delightful accommodation close to Cahors. The facilities were excellent, including a heated swimming pool, an outdoor kitchen/BBQ area, plenty of outside seating, varied breakfasts, comfortable bed, regularly changed towels along with bathrobes/towels for pool use, not to mention covered car parking.

Based on the pictures at the website and the reviews, we had high expectations for our 3-night stay at Domaine de Labarthe. But we were not prepared for the serene charm and comfort of this family owned country estate inn, or for the warm hospitality we received from our hosts, Laurence and Guillaume. We wish we could have stayed longer. We look forward to our next visit

This is the sort of place you want to tell everyone about, and then no-one, because if too many people know about it, it will be difficult to book. The hosts are charming and extremely helpful. The rooms cool and comfortable and bathrooms exemplary, with great power showers. The winner though is the house and region. Steeped in history, immersed in wine and thoughtfully and tastefully maintained. The guest kitchen adds options and convenience, but if you miss out on one of Laurence's meals you do yourselves and your host an injustice. Enjoy chilling by the pool or the nearby market in Cahors.

A great place to stay to explore the Lot valley. Excellent room (how nice to have twin room available) with one of most comfortable beds, delicious breakfasts on the terrace when weather was nice. Able to have a refreshing swim at end of day and use an outdoor kitchen. Very welcoming hosts with invaluable advice about local area etc. One of the best Sawday recommended places we've stayed at.

You’re in wine country here so explore the many Cahors vineyards. The food is good around here too – head to the beautiful Château de Mercuès (two km) for Michelin-starred food or Aux Quatre Vins (7 km) serves hearty fare in a lovely setting.

Introducing
Laurence & Guillaume Bardin
Laurence and Guillaume - an energetic, interesting couple who are in the wine trade and grow walnuts, will welcome you into their amazing home. They’ve been running the B&B since 2014, but the house has been in their family for many years. You may meet their two friendly, well-behaved dogs too.
Such a beautiful house and lovely grounds, tucked away in a peaceful setting. The rooms are cozy, immaculate, and beautifully decorated. Laurance was a perfect host, and helped us with dinner recommendations and reservations. Breakfast was delicious. We were only here for one night but could have stayed for days, especially in the summer.
