The Experience

You’ll find plenty of space to spread out in a large sitting room with Chesterfield sofas and wood fire, a dining room (also with fire) filled with antiques and a massive oak table for chatting and chopping. There is a small single bedroom downstairs, the rest are on the first floor and have fine views. The unique kitchen is actually built into the rock face but has all the modern fittings and you are left a bottle of the local wine.

If you don’t fancy cooking then you can be served a home-cooked three course dinner in the dining room or Orangery depending on the weather. The owners run a B&B in their manor house on the estate. You start with a handmade cocktail or strawberry liqueur then enjoy classic French cuisine such as lamb tagine or rabbit stew followed by one of Olga’s delicious puddings or an elaborate multi layered cake.

Summer evenings will be spent on your own terrace overlooking extensive grounds and water gardens.

Reviews

Olivier and Olga are lovely hosts, friendly, helpful and efficient - sympa, as the French say. Their home is beautiful, set in magnificent grounds with splendid views. Olivier has fine taste in furniture and wine; Olga is a fine cook, making great use of the eggs produced by their chickens; Unix, their dog, is affection and gentleness personified. The location is great for visiting such places as Chenonceau, Tours, Blois, Villandry, Cheverny, Chaumont-sur-Loire, Chambord and Azay-le-rideau.

Great location in the heart of Touraine. Beautiful place with an interesting selection of rooms. Well decorated with period antiques. The cellar is gorgeous to see and the grounds are large . We were well taken care of during our visit. Thanks for everything!

Graham, London

Olivier and Olga are fantastic hosts. Their house is beautifully decorated, you can see the care and attention they have taken with every room. We were lucky enough to have Olga cook for us for one night. It was in stunning room in their main house. Great wine and even tastier food!

Charlie, London

This place is truly amazing! The house is huge with beautifully spectacular rooms, and so cosy with a massive living area and open fires. The surrounding area is lovely and peaceful. I’ve never slept so well. Olivier and Olga (and Unix the dog) were perfect hosts, cooked us a fantastic meal, and we can’t wait to come back next year! You won’t regret staying here! (7adults staying in the apartment)

We had a lovely time at Olivier’s place. We were a group of 7 adults on a wine tasting tour. The accommodation was beautiful with loads of interesting art around the house. The bedrooms were huge and ornate and the living room with an open fire was beautiful. There was lots of space for our group. The gardens were beautiful. We ate at Olivier’s one night which was an enjoyable evening. We loved Unix the dog. Olivier went out of his way with his hospitality- bringing us fresh eggs from his chickens and taking us into the amazing wine cellar to taste an old bottle of wine. Thank you Olivier!

Caroline, London

The house has a fascinating history, closely linked to the lovely local wines and the great châteaux of the Loire nearby. Spared from overly zealous renovations, there is an air of sleepy beauty pervading the place. One could be tempted to grab a glass of local sauvignon and disappear into the garden with a book for the afternoon. History buffs would adore this place.
