The Experience

Instant charm at the end of the long leafy avenue. This intimate château glows with personality and peculiarity yet this is no museum-piece: delightful Anne looks after the B&B while Jean Christophe produces some of the region’s best sweet and dry white wines; enjoy the tastings. Stuffed full of character, bedrooms have super comfy beds on carpeted floors and bathrooms big old roll top tubs and walk-in showers. Tuck in to a splendid breakfast at the convivial table – alongside the Guignol puppet theatre! – before setting off for the great châteaux: Chenonceau, Amboise, Villandry and Azay le Rideau, all within an hour’s drive.

Reviews

Anne is the consummate host offering a very comfortable French country-style experience in a 16th century manor house nestled in the center of award winning vineyard grounds tended by her husband Jean Christophe. Perfectly located near many beautiful small villages, bustling market towns, and the two larger towns of Tours and Amboise that offer markets, stylish shops, and fine restaurants to suit all tastes. Such all around experience as Anne presents is unmatched anywhere and she does this with laughter and a sparking personality. We have stayed with her many times over the last 10 years.

Bonnie and Charles, Louisville

Loved this lovely place. Anne was amazing and could not have been more accommodating. Highly recommend.

Laura, Atlanta

Chateau de Pintray is peaceful, restful, comfortable and charming. The signs of faded glory past are easily compensated by the ambiance and friendliness of the establishment. The location is very rural, being surrounded by vines and arable farm land. However, Amboise is only 6 km away and has numerous restaurants, while St Martin le Beau is only 3 km distant with the very acceptable Auberge de la Treille. Anne is a wonderful hostess and has plenty of suggestions for daily itineraries and produces a very good petit dejeuner to start the day.

Nick, St. Albans

We enjoyed staying in this charming old house surrounded by vineyards. Anne and Jean Christophe were very welcoming hosts, and we particularly appreciated the invitation to a wine tasting, the wonderful breakfasts round the big table and the invitation to have picnic suppers in our room when we wished.

Anna

We had a fantastic stop-over at Chateau de Pintray and only wish we could have stayed longer. We had a beautiful room, which was full of character and perfectly set up for the children. Breakfast was wonderful and the wines were lovely. Above all, Anne was a fantastic host. She was so welcoming of our family and incredibly helpful. We will go back and for longer.

Anthony

Anne and Jean Christophe are two of the most welcoming hosts that the Loire Valley has to offer. Anne has an intimate knowledge of the area having grown up in close by Tours. She is not only very attentive to her guests' needs and requests, but shares her love of family and place with sparkling laughter and refreshing animation. Her rooms are picture perfect with family rooms large and ideally arranged for comfort. Pintray is a producing vineyard and the wines are delicious and soon to be Bio. The setting is perfect French countryside and the hosts are perfect, hardworking young couple.
