The Experience

The B&B is spread across three buildings close to the church and includes a bar/tea shop for drinking and dining and a grassy garden with tables, chairs and sun umbrellas. Bedrooms are spread over three floors, the ground floor room with its own private courtyard, first-floor room with a forest theme and the top two with sloping ceilings. In addition there’s a separate family suite with a small kitchen. All have en suite bathrooms with separate loos and are as clean as a whistle.

Breakfast is served in the dining room or on the terrace: fresh fruit salad, local apple juice, homemade yogurt, pancakes and brioche, tasty jams. Light evening meals can be ordered in advance and the bar is open for tea and dinner to non-residents. Hire electric bikes and pedal beside the Canal du Berry which stretches 50km each way.

Explore the undulating countryside surrounding you or head into Vierzon (10km) for a choice of good restaurants.

Reviews

Very professionally run B&B. If you love bright, modern contemporary design you'll love the bold colours and quirky touches of the interiors. Everything is brand new and squeaky clean. A perfect overnight stay, especially for families, with off-street private parking. Guests can have a delicious tea or eat a light home-cooked dinner with wine or beer without leaving the premises.

Location

The neighbourhood

You're in a secluded area and the road that passes is a cul-de-sac so there is very little traffic. There are many local lakes and forests with ample walks, swims and cycles. Visit vineyards for wine tasting, especially the famous Quincy wine. Hike in Sologne Forest, discover the porcelain museum, drive to Vierzon for eating out and shopping. Bourges is 25km.

Local points of interest from Noëlla Chopier

  • You’ll find a tea room on site that’s open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, where you can enjoy a cup of tea and some cake or have dinner in the evening.
  • In the house you’ll see the works of a local artist who previously stayed here.
  • The B&B is 500m from the Berry canal which you can walk or cycle alongside.
  • We have e-bikes available to hire to discover the countryside, or ride along the canal to Bourges or Vierzon.
  • You can visit the porcelain museum in our village and buy pieces at the Deshoulières shop. Foëcy is known for its porcelain making, in fact some pieces made here were found on board the Titanic.
  • Wine lovers can visit Quincy, Reuilly and Menetou and you can try local goat’s cheeses, a regional delicacy.

Introducing

Noëlla Chopier

Noëlla and Bruno live on site with their cat Mimi. Noëlla keeps the interiors immaculate – she adores interior design and the property is her passion. Bruno conjures up delicious patisserie for your breakfasts, and they are always available if you need any advice about where to go and what to see, but otherwise they'll leave you to get on with your holiday.
