The Experience
Off the stunning Cap Corse in the centre of pocket-sized Erbalunga – with its cute seafront square strewn with well-worn fishing boats – is this graceful 19th century hotel. Lounge in generous, light-filled rooms; read or have a drink in the exotic garden and pretty courtyard; work off all the rich Corsican food in the spa and swimming pools.
The bedrooms are spacious enough to sit in and each overlooks the gardens or town – the best have mountain and sea views. Enjoy the hearty fare: buffet for breakfast, lunches in high season and classic Corsican dishes served in the evening. Try Fiadone – a dessert made from ewes cheese. The restaurant is closed on Wednesdays which gives you a good excuse to head off down narrow alleys to find somewhere to eat – there’s an abundance of tempting eateries and bars.
Walk from the door: a four hour roundtrip hike up Monte Stello rewards with panoramic island views. Hire e-bikes to get around.

Location
The neighbourhood
The centre of town is pedestrianised: walk to the derelict Genoese tower by the water. The coastline is stunning with pretty villas, sandy coves and huge palms. There are so many beaches to discover from popular spots with loungers and restaurants to deserted wild ones that you'll have to yourself. Hop on a bike to discover glittering bays, vibrant coastal cities, valleys and forests.
Local points of interest from Julien Pieri
- The hotel is located at the very heart of the village of Erbalunga, a national historical site, & one of the most beautiful villages in Corsica. Its Genoese tower, picturesque lanes and quaint fishing port create a lovely atmosphere.
- At waling distance of the hotel, you could easily find a beach made of large flat rocks and a large pebble beach is located 300 meters north of the village. The “Capellu” creek, perfect for snorkelling is just 500 meters north of the village.
- From Erbalunga, you can easily discover all the natural and patrimonial wonders of Cap Corse, the most protected region of the island of Beauty.
- Just 10 minutes drive from Erbalunga are the Old Port and Bastia’s Citadel, dating back respectively from the 14th and 16th centuries, and also the city’s baroque churches that constitute the most important architectural heritage of the island.
- Whether it is by foot, by boat or on horseback, Cap Corse is to discover from every angle. It is a great playground for youngs and adults in seek of nature. All our team is at your disposal to help you to plan your holidays in our region.

Introducing
Julien Pieri
The mansion was built in 1853 by a doctor in Napoleon's army. It was then bought by a local man - who had made his fortune in America - and he planted the exotic garden that you see today. In 1990 Joelle and Jean Paul Pieri inherited the house after it had fallen into ruins and they set about restoring it to its former glory. They hope it can be a showcase for local history and traditions. You'll meet their son, Julien, who now manages the hotel.
This is simply one of the loveliest places I have ever visited! The hotel still oozes with 19th century charm, its drawing rooms seemingly untouched since then. The rooms are elegant and spacious, the gardens and courtyards extensive and verdant and lovely town of Erbalunga, between grand mountain and splendid coastline is unforgettable. I am longing to return!
