The Experience

Bask under an umbrella by the saltwater pool; stroll down the steps and you’re on the sands. The restaurant stretches its tables across the front terrace, and the food is undeniably special. Book dinner under the pines.

This elegant, welcoming, 19th-century villa combines easy luxury with turn-of-the-century charm. Bedrooms – some at the back, others facing the sea – offer superb mattresses, soothing colours, and large walk-in showers. If you have a terrace, enjoy your Corsican breakfast with a stunning view of the bay.

The Gulf of Ajaccio is known for its beaches. Head for the turquoise waters of Ruppione (26km), perhaps with a picnic in tow. Borrow the bikes and pedal into town: Ajaccio is the birthplace of Napoleon. As darkness falls, drive 20 minutes to the Pointe Parata, to watch the sun set over the Sanguinaires Archipelago.

Reviews

This is a dreamy seaside hotel and a fabulous base from which to explore Corsica. The warm water of the Mediterranean lap at the rocks at the edge of the hotel's terrace - it's truly stunning.
