The Experience
The grand old mansion sits in green, serene gardens near the outskirts of a small champagne village; Ployez-Jacquemart is an exceptional domain whose fizz ranges from buttery-rich to fruity-fresh. Courteous staff (who live off site) serve breakfast at one big table, and show you to suites decorated in impeccable French style. Ask for one that faces the vineyards (‘Nature’, distinguished by its gentle colours and polished boards, is on the first floor, ‘Savane’ and ‘Provence’ are on the second). The communal spaces are chic, the gardens are elegant, the breakfasts are delicious and you can wander at will.

We had a delightful stay in this very beautiful old French wine house. A cellar tasting and guided tour, attractive clean and tastefully decorated bedroom and a most wonderful bathroom. The breakfast was adequate but I would have liked a warm croissant! Never mind. The rest made up for it and we took two precious bottles home with us. Well worth the visit, although sadly only the one night.two would give opportunity to explore the area.

The accommodation is very clean and the hosts business like. Breakfast is served along side fellow guests. We went to a near by town for dinner as the restaurant in the village was closed.

A beautiful old family Champagne House in the heart of the Champagne region close to the regional capital of Reims. Beautiful and well-furnished rooms, ours overlooked the vineyard, and a chance to tour the cellar with champagne tasting afterwards. Lovely gardens to sit in and enjoy a picnic, as well as an honesty “maxi-bar” well stocked with the House Champagne, what’s not to like?! We hope to go back for a longer stay in the future and explore the region more widely.
