Les Jardins de Loïs

This 200-year-old house once belonged to a wine broker. Now, under the connoisseurship of its charming, attentive owners, Anne-Marie and Philippe, it has returned to its roots; they are both wine buffs and their pride and joy is their cellar. You’re welcome to join them for an evening tasting session: their Burgundy is particularly fine.

Bedrooms are lavish and beautiful, one has a bath, the rest Italianate monsoon showers. There’s even an immaculate steam room for guests to book a hammam session. The garden suite is the most private, in its own outbuilding with a smart sitting room. The garden itself is a real gem – half a hectare, walled, with neat beds of roses, shady magnolias and fruit trees to rest beneath.

Enjoy a generous breakfast – pastries, fruit salad, ham, cheese, eggs – in the elegant, airy dining room; then stroll Beaune’s ancient cobbles, visit the famous Hospices, drink the fruits of the region’s wine capital.
