The Experience
Sociable souls will be happy here with table d’hôte dinners (off season) and twice weekly barbecue soirées in the summer where all the guests mingle and chat. Breakfast is served in a big salon with a fireplace for chillier days: apple juice from the orchard, jams from nearby Quiberon, charcuterie, locally-baked breads and patisserie, homemade lemon cake and English scones. On rainy days you can play board games, table tennis or piano, choose a book from the library, laze in the pool and sauna.
The house is surrounded by 6 hectares of fields and forest for cycling (there are bikes to borrow) or lovely walks – the only sound will be the odd tractor and a lot of birdsong. The brave can canoe in the moat or bring a rod and try for carp. A boules pit is fun in the cool of the evening with a sundowner.
Large, west-facing bedrooms on the first floor have views over an orchard, sturdy beds with good linen and magic-mirror TVs.

A fantastic experience🤩. The Manoir is beautiful, tastefully restored and furnished. An ideal place in the middle of nature with lots of peace and quiet to relax. Breakfast and dinner very varied, with products from the region, simply delicious! Bernard and Frédérique are very friendly, attentive hosts. We received lots of tips for excursions, activities and restaurants in the area. Not run-of-the-mill, but individually tailored to us. Absolute recommendation. Thank you😊!!!

We spent 5 nights at the Manoir in a Chambres d’hotes room. A short distance from Pluvigner and an excellent base for us to explore the region as far as Josselin to the east and Port Louis to the west. Bernard and Frederique are delightful hosts and made us very welcome. They were most careful about our dietary needs and willingly provided a light supper every evening on request, making a special effort on our last night. Both speak excellent English and gave us helpful ideas about places to visit. The swimming pool and sauna were perfect for relaxing after a long day sightseeing.

Beautifully restored manor house. We had a lovely, large room overlooking the orchard with a superb bathroom. The breakfasts were some of the best we've had in France and the hosts were brilliant at advising on places to dine in the evenings and where there were nice walks. And the hydrangeas were wonderful...

We found nothing but joy with Frédérique and Bernard at the Manoir du Guern. Very beautiful stone building surrounded by a garden which invites you to stay there. A true haven of peace. Impeccable cleanliness in all facilities, elegant decoration and omnipresent attention to detail. Fabulous breakfast. We got up early so we could take our time and taste all the dishes! Frédérique and Bernard remained attentive at all times and provided lots of good tips. Good location while remaining discreet and quiet. We will return there as soon as possible. Recommended with your eyes closed!

Manoir du Guern with owners Bernard and Frederique have lovingly restored their gorgeous property keeping the beautiful architectural style and combining it with more contemporary furnishings. Our room was very comfortable including the bed. Breakfasts are always delicious and different with homemade jam and baked goods. They are a short drive to bays and the ocean and the Carnac Stones were amazing! The area has very nice restaurants and Bernard and Frederique are always recommending great things to do. We look forward to coming back as we really enjoyed being here at the Manoir.

Manoir du Guern is an exceptional Brittany experience. A unique destination in the countryside with its own lake, swimming pool and sauna. The accommodation is first class with large bedrooms en-suite complete with all modernities. The decor is understated-opulent-rustic…all at the same time. Our hosts Frederique and Bernard were very hospitable. They give you your own space, make you feel at home and are happy to engage and offer advice on places to go. The cuisine on offer was the piece de la resistance. Encore!!

We spent a relaxing 3 days at The Manoir du Guern. Bernard & Frederique Baudoin were welcoming and charming hosts. The renovations to the Manoir are both stylish and attractive . There are 2 well appointed Gites, one with direct access to the pool and sauna , the other with outside space overlooking the moat. We had one of the chambre d'hote rooms very comfortable , Apple TV, Wifi and beautifully appointed bathroom. Breakfast was very generous, coffee and tea ad lib. Our hosts the Baudoin's speak very good English, could not have been more helpful and we hope to be able to pay another visit

We stayed at the Manoir du Guern with my husband and son for a few days. We Were amazed by this bucolic place. The Hosts (Frédérique and Bernard) are very accommodating. They gave us advice about the sites and walks in the region. We slept marvelously, then woke up to a delicious breakfast and enjoyed the indoor swimming pool. My husband and son even did a little kayaking on the moat surrounding the Manoir.

Location
The neighbourhood
Seemingly remote, it's less than a mile from the busy little village of Pluvigner for a bakery, bar, church and shops. There are good restaurants in the port of Auray, 20 minutes in the car. It's a picture-perfect town with lots of shops, timber houses in the old part and a stunning bridge. Other Morbihan towns and villages like Vannes, Josselin, Carnac and Quiberon are all within an hour's drive.
Local points of interest from Bernard Baudoin
- The islands of Morbihan : Belle Île en Mer, Groix, Houat, Hoëdic, Île aux moines, Île d’Arz
- Vannes, medieval city, city of art and history and its marina
- Quiberon, its peninsula and its kilometres of wild coastlineCarnac and its megaliths
- Sainte Anne d’Auray, the Marian shrine of BrittanyDiscovering Breton chapelsSaint Cado and the ria d’Etel
- Auray, medieval city of character and the charming port of Saint GoustanLe Bono, small authentic Breton village

Introducing
Bernard Baudoin
Bernard and Frédérique live in another part of the house but will meet and greet you, serve your breakfast, cook supper when they're doing it (their speciality is the locally-reared lamb) and look after you brilliantly. They bought the Manoir in 2017 and spent three years restoring it, hoping to bring the house back to all its grandeur without losing its authenticity. It's a triumph.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Manoir du Guern, our hosts were charmimg and really helpful organizing wonderful restaurants for our dinners. The breakfasts were amazing and set us up for the day. The decor and arrangements in the manoir were of the highest order and it was a total joy to stay there. Peter Scholfield
