The Experience

Indoors is light and spacious with plenty of warmth and comfort. Groovy artwork and contemporary furniture mingle well with the odd antique and you can settle down in the TV salon on a sumptuous velvet sofa or in the gentleman’s salon. There are four good-sized bedrooms upstairs, all with en suite bathrooms and with a private feel – you won’t feel on top of each other.

The open-plan kitchen is not enormous, but well equipped and you’re left two bottles of wine, a cheese platter, baguettes and fresh milk. You’re welcome to help yourselves to whatever is flourishing in the potager and Ruth, who greets you, can cook for you if you like. She’s also happy to take you to see the horses or offer lifts. Chickens potter around outside, Finn the friendly spaniel may pop in – it’s a relaxed place.

You’re just 2km from Tournon-d’Agenais for a stroll around one of the most beautiful villages in France, quite a climb but fabulous views.

We think you'll love

  • Swimming in the lovely pool, playing table tennis and table football, feeling very much in holiday mode
  • Walking in the lush countryside – fields, wooded banks, nut groves, quiet lanes and lakes
  • Letting friendly Ruth take you to feed carrots to the horses, cook you Sunday brunch or Friday frittata and give you a lift into town so you can have a tipple and walk back

Reviews

Crunch your way down the gravel drive to the stylish country manor of Lespaze. It's been beautifully restored and offers a place to drop bags and immediately ease into relaxed holiday mode. There's space for everyone with the handy configuration of pool, terrace and summer kitchen just a step from the house. Ruth will look after your every desire – food, info, and even take you to feed the horses.

Location

The neighbourhood

You're nestled deep in the French countryside so walks and cycles will be gorgeous. It's an uphill puff to the top of the hill in town for panoramic views over the Lot-et-Garonne countryside. There are some interesting half-timbered houses, a good coffee shop, excellent butcher and most things you might need. A bit further away (9km) is Montaigu-de-Quercy which has everything.
