The Experience
Handsome and enticing, this 18th-century manor house is perched on a hillside with views of silken wheat fields and distant valleys. But feast your eyes on the star of the show: an all-bells-and-whistles pool. Inside: an air of decadent splendour – even a knight in armour – where all is tasteful, relaxed and spacious in sitting, dining and bedrooms – just watch out for some low beams (and ask for an extra single if you need one). There’s lovely artisan bread and homemade jams for breakfast, scrumptious dinners from generous owners and acres of parkland to mosey around – home to a huge and friendly black pig.

I spent a long time looking for somewhere characterful for a one night stopover in August and this was a real find. Our four children loved the pool, the table tennis, the hammock and the pet pig! Beautiful house and setting. Dinner was delicious - a very varied menu and great home cooking. Highly recommended.

This was the best place we stayed in on a 9 day cycling tour across France. The accommodation was excellent and the host coudn't have been more helpful ferrying us up the hill after a long cycle ride along the valey. Great pool, great breakfast - what more could one want - we're going back.

We spent a wonderful 2 nights here. Our family room was spacious and luxurious. The owners couldn't have been more welcoming or accommodating. The food was delicious (we opted for evening meals on both nights) and the wine flowed freely! The children enjoyed the spacious and well kept grounds and stunning, heated pool. There's lots to do in the area too, and the owner is very good at making suggestions for things to do and places to go if you ask.
