The Experience
All the rooms are sunny and bright with lovely large windows and views over the gardens. Three spacious reception rooms mean you’ll never feel on top of one another: the large drawing room has plenty of seating for ten, a collection of board games, table football and mini billiards. The dining room has a piano and a little sofa for a quiet read along with a huge table.
The hugely sociable kitchen runs from the front to the back of the house, with a large prepping island, another table for informal meals and all the kit you need along with a double oven and plenty of pots and pans. Bedrooms, one downstairs with its own shower, the master with an en suite, are all a good size and have fine views; the children’s room has triple bunks.
The gardens are a delight and you can picnic in the meadow beside the pool, or have a barbecue and eat on the dining terrace listening to birdsong – nature lovers and families will be happy here.

Location
The neighbourhood
The house sits quietly down a single track road with only a couple of other houses and is surrounded by vineyards with lovely country views. You're about 3km from the charming, traditionally built town of Bourg with its fairy-tale air, château and all the shops and restaurants you would expect. The tourist office can supply you with excellent maps for all the Gironde estuary walks nearby.
Local points of interest from Owen Everitt
- The centre of Bordeaux is just a 40 min drive away where you can visit one of the world’s biggest wine museum, or simply marvel at the neo-classical architecture of the City, whose beauty has earned it a spot on UNESCO World Heritage Sites list.
- Visit the fairy tale looking historic village of Bourg Sur Gironde, in the heart of the wine appellation of Cotes De Bourg. Blaye is another UNESCO World Heritage Site, with its imposing Citadel and beautiful port which provides the gateway for ferries to the Margaux wine region.
- Endless possibilities to visit chateaus/vineyards and undertake tastings, starting with the Cotes De Bourg region, where you will find that many of the best wine producers are neighbours to the Domaine Collin making Chateaux visits easily accessible.
- Soak up the vibrant atmospheres of the weekly markets of Blaye (Saturday) and Bourg Sur Gironde (Sunday) and purchase the best local produce ranging from oysters/fresh seafood from the bassin de Arcachon, or treats from our local boulangerie/patisserie recently voted the best in France.
- Immerse yourself in the vast activities of the Gironde estuary, which is on the doorstep, and discover the Boheme corniche with its many walks, fishing cabins, a diverse array of wildlife, numerous picnic sights, pentaquin courts, cycle tracks and boat tours to the many islands of the Gironde.
- The chic seaside hideaway for the Bordelais, of the Bassin De Arcachon/Cap Ferret offer glorious beaches to sample surfing, sailing in the classic wooden boat of the Bassin (the pinasse), local oyster huts and the famed Dune of Pilat (highest sand dune in Europe).

Introducing
Owen Everitt
Owen and Beverley embarked on their renovation journey in 2018 with a vision to create a perfect blend of historical charm, the French way of life and modern comfort. As avid lovers of history and hospitality, they were captivated by the estate's original features and its potential to become a warm, welcoming retreat. They are excited to welcome you to their home and share this beautiful experience.
Domaine Collin is a charming traditional French mansion in its own extensive grounds, in an idyllic country setting surrounded by vineyards. It has been very sympathetically renovated with lots of traditional features and is spacious, sunny and bright, with wonderful views. The pretty town of Bourg is a very short drive away and has everything you need for a self-catering holiday.
