The Experience

This smart manor tucked in a tiny hamlet has bags of character, an indoor farmhouse-style kitchen, a well-equipped outdoor kitchen, and a Moroccan-inspired courtyard. It’s the perfect setup for convivial outdoor suppers, cooked by owners Ian and Hugh or a local chef; they can arrange wine-tastings and cakes for special occasions.

Everything has been planned to perfection: a pool, hot tub and mezzanine gym plus quiet spaces to retreat with a book. There are three ground floor en suite bedrooms (two doubles, one twin/double) plus a guest cottage with a double en suite bedroom on the first floor, all individually styled and looking over the pretty gardens. The master has its own private terrace. Chase the sun or the shade around the tree-sprinkled five acres, set up the barbecue, sip an aperitif and plan tomorrow’s adventure.

The Dordogne is at your feet: visit châteaux and picturesque villages, shop for delicious local produce at Ribérac’s lively market, lake swim at La Jemaye. The closest restaurant is 2km.

Reviews

Le Manoir Des Fouilloux is a beautiful traditional Périgourdine home which has been tastefully designed by the owners so you can spend a perfect holiday with friends or family. There is so much to do on site which is beautifully presented and easily accessible. The views are stunning and the tranquility of the location guarantees a restful time away from the humdrum.

Annette, Sawday's Inspector

Ian and Hugh have created an oasis of tranquility in the French countryside. From the warmest of welcomes to the fondest of farewells, every day in between was perfection. Whether running around the local area keeping teenagers amused or just lazing by the pool, Fouilloux is an absolute haven. The huge kitchen table is perfection for playing cards or just chatting to the rest of the group when getting one of the many meals ready. Cooking in the Moroccan courtyard kitchen just adds another dimension and another perspective of the property to enjoy!! The swimming pool is perfect at every time of

Edward, London

A beautiful house, carefully and interestingly furnished and decorated. The gardens are lovely, so much space for children to race around with a good sized swimming pool. Ian and Hugh were very welcoming and unobtrusive! It would be impossible not to love this place!

Kathleen, Leicester

Ian and Hugh have thought of everything to make your stay special in their perfect patch of paradise. The fabulous furnishings throughout the property feel both homely and sumptuous and the moroccan courtyard with its own kitchen is just beautiful. We loved it all, from lounging outside in each of the different areas, each furnished with everything you could need, to browsing through the wonderful selection of coffee table books inside. It was perfect for a holiday with our adult family making memories together.

Introducing

Ian Kenworthy

Ian, whose career was in high-end hospitality, and Hugh, a retired NHS director, are warm, friendly and open-hearted hosts who have spent years teasing the manor back to life and making it ready for guests to enjoy. They live in a separate cottage and will be involved in your stay as much or as little as you wish. They have a gorgeous dog, Stanley, who you'll also meet.
