The Experience
Choose between four individual B&B rooms, all beautifully refurbished and decorated. You have the use of a well-equipped communal kitchen, the lovely gardens, swimming pool and poolside summer room – perfect for escaping with a book or just to chat in the shade.
Frédérique leaves you a delicious breakfast of freshly baked local bread and croissants, homemade cakes and jams, tasty cheeses. If you’re arriving late on your first night she’ll also happily make up a dinner basket of regional pâté, cheeses, bread and a bottle of wine.
The stone wall interiors are filled with authentic vintage pieces sourced from antique markets and perfectly curated. Stride out along forest trails, cycle or ride on a horse through serene countryside.

We are lucky enough to have stayed in many beautiful places around the world (often via Sawday's) but this is up there with the very, very best . Unpretentious but a staggeringly beautiful and stylish place in a glorious setting . Fabulous attention to detail , wonderfully thoughtful, helpful and friendly hosts , luxurious beds and linen, excellent shower and a superb breakfast under the pergola .

I had the luxury of visiting this beautiful piece of paradise of Domaine de Pragelier situated in the countryside. The property has been refurbished to a very high standard. Frédérique has thought of every little detail to make your stay special. I can highly recommend this Guest House for a romantic week away or just to escape your busy lifestyle to switch off and relax.

Location
The neighbourhood
The nearest shops and restaurants are just 1km away in Tourtoirac but there are plenty of bigger shops and excellent restaurants serving local dishes nearby – your hosts can help with reservations. There are superb markets almost every day, and some evenings, in summer. Périgueux, Montignac and Sarlat are near enough for an easy day out.
Local points of interest from Mark & Frédérique
- Perigord is one of the most beautiful regions of France and features many castles, quaint villages, grottos and caves and other places of historical interest and natural beauty.
- From Sarlat to Montignac, St. Leon-sur-Vezere to Hautefort, guests will be stunned by the beauty of the surrounding towns and villages. Visit markets galore, canoe on the unspoilt rivers, go cycling, horseback riding or hiking to relax and re-charge.
- Domaine de Pragelier was commissioned by Louis IX in the early 1700s and has been lovingly-refurbished by your hosts to provide an elegant, country-chic style accommodation experience. Includes swimming pool and an entire garden in which to relax.
- The serene and secluded ambience of the property enables guests to completely disconnect with its location being an ideal and well-situated base from which to explore the region.
- Local restaurants provide the best in regional cuisine with many Perigord specialities on offer. Indulge yourself in locally-produced foie gras, truffles, wines and other treats.
- Domaine de Pragelier also features an on-site vintage concept store with many fun, fascinating and unique items of antique decor. Take a piece of local historical interest home with you as a memento of your visit to the region.

Introducing
Mark & Frédérique
Having lived all over the world, Frédérique and Mark fell in love with the Dordogne region and bought this 18th-century property. Welcoming and outgoing, they’ve created a wonderful experience for guests and love sharing their home.
The setting of the property is idyllic and the decor/furnishings throughout are stylish with much attention given to both detail and functionality. However, it is the hosts Frédérique and Mark that made this place truly special for me. They are great fun, unfussy but highly professional. They seemed genuinely to enjoy hosting guests and sharing their beautiful home with us. And the breakfast is to die for!
