The Experience

Here is peace, wildlife, the seductive Preseli hills and, next door, charming Beat (who will barbecue you freshly-caught trout in any weather) and artist Elizabeth – both Swiss. You’ll find a welcome cocktail and basics for the kitchen handily waiting – you’ll even find your own flag run up the flagpole – wherever you come from! The delightful space is all on one level with heated Welsh flags underfoot, a comfy sofa and Beat’s handmade furniture. Elizabeth’s (very good) paintings dot the rough, whitewashed walls, a book shelf bursts with good books and masses of National Geographics, and the wood-burner belts out the heat. A well-equipped stainless steel kitchen with a Siemens coffee maker will delight the fussiest of cooks (bring your beans!). Sleep peacefully on a deep mattress with crisp sheets, wake to birdsong from the pretty garden which is yours to wander – among the chickens and ducks. Discover a beautiful wooden cabin and a summer house (make yourselves at home) or slumber in a hammock by the gurgling stream. You can walk your socks off all day and return to a proper hot bath. Amiably relaxed and informal.

Reviews

I recommend you book a stay at this holiday cottage - it is located in idyllic countryside with only birdsong to interrupt your peace! The cottage is well equipped and very comfortable. There are spacious gardens in which to relax, yet you are close to the Pembrokeshire coast for exercise. Beat and Elisabeth are perfect hosts and you will be made very welcome. This is why I have visited 7 times and are booked for next year!

Norman, Paignton

The cottage is compact, well equipped and beautifully presented. It is set in a lovely garden in a peaceful and remote setting. A great base for walkers. The kind and hospitable owners ensure every precaution had been taken to provide a Covid free environment.

Peter, Tunbridge Wells

This little cottage is lovely is every way! Well-equipped, peaceful, lovely owners and lots to do in the local area - highly recommended.

Location

The neighbourhood

Local points of interest from Beat Wehren

  • Centrally located to all water sports centers on the Pembrokeshire coast
  • Near the Coastal Path and the Preselli Hills National Park.
  • Well connected to the Pembrokeshire Arts scene
  • Our garden is great for birdwatching and wildlife observation, including hedgehogs, foxes and the elusive otter at the pond.
  • My favorite eatery is the fisch restaurant, Something's Cooking, in Letterston, plus the Little Newcastle Pub, The Swan
  • Baby sitting and taxi service can easily be arranged
