The Experience
Coastal walkers and beach-combers will be perfectly content here, tucked away but not isolated. The only sound you’ll hear is birdsong so it’s a restorative place and the surrounding countryside is glorious. Lovers of artefacts, antiques, old prints and pictures will adore the attention to detail – even the first aid kit is in its original tin. You’ll feel steeped in all things Welsh with blankets, rugs, crocheted cushions, original art and a dresser full of china. On rainy days it’ll still be fun playing a board game or choosing a book to read by the cosy log-burner.
Peaceful bedrooms (one for children with bunks) are small but perfectly formed with splendid views, wooden floors and rugs, more artwork and fine linen, the bathroom has an antique French copper bath tub and walk-in shower; the loo is separate.
A sleek galley kitchen has plenty of work surface and you eat at a large table, or out in the garden with a lawn for sunny loafing.

Beautifully decorated with incredible Welsh folk art, a feast for the green eyed yet a modern power shower Sky tv & WiFi. This immaculate cosy cottage offered us the perfect nest to discover the delights of Pembrokeshire. From the walled garden and woodland walks on the Stackpole Estate to the raw sand dunes/beach of Barafundle Bay all on your doorstep. I can only describe Coopers Dip as a magical place of fairytales. We can’t thank Sarah enough for all her care and attention to detail in making our stay so blissful from start to end, we really didn’t want to leave the clutches of Coopers Dip.

We really enjoyed our stay in this comfortable cottage. Fabulously located in what were once the extensive grounds of a large stately home (now sadly demolished). The Pembrokeshire coastal path, beautiful beaches, lakes and woodlands are all within easy walking distance. Highly recommended.

An absolutely lovely cottage. All the walks you could need on the doorstop. So peaceful and calm, you can't beat the stone walls! Couldn't have asked for a nicer place to spend Christmas, loved the decorations and antique furniture.

Sarah is a wonderful host, really friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay at this cosy cottage, we felt warm and content during the very cold weather; the kitchen is so well equipped; the attention to detail is welcoming and we felt really comfortable. The location is so special, perfect for long walks, peace and swims at local beaches. This was a memorable stay for us and we look forward to returning.

This amazing cottage is a fantastic choice for those keen to walk from the doorstep to one of the many local Pembrokeshire beauty spots, such as Barafundle, Broad Haven South, Bosherston and Stackpole itself. It's unusually furnished and kitted out with all sorts of antiques, including some original and tasteful paintings. A very well-equipped kitchen too. Thank you, Sarah for showing me around!

Location
The neighbourhood
You are within the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park on the Stackpole NT Estate with the lily ponds adjacent to the cottage. The famous Stackpole Inn is a 20-minute walk, or stroll 5 minutes to the Walled Gardens which has a tea room and, in summer months, sells vegetables grown in the garden. Choose your long sandy beach: Barafundle, Broad Haven South, Freshwater East, all are near and all stunning. Pembroke for shops, history and castle is 3 miles.
Local points of interest from Sarah
- Perfectly located to be able to stroll out of the door to the famous beauty spots at Stackpole including Barafundle Bay, Broadhaven South, Lily Ponds, Stackpole Warren, Stackpole Head and Mowingword. This cottage is the perfect hideaway.
- Freshwater West Beach is local hotspot for surfing & makes for a great walk. It is an area with a fascinating history as it was once used by smugglers as a place to stash their booty. Featured in several films; Robin Hood, Harry Potter and Their Finest.
- If you’re a foodie, you are sure to love the award winning Stackpole Inn, Paternoster Farm, Wales' best hidden gem serving food from an old cowshed, The Old Point House, or fine dining at Coast all offering a great locally sourced food experience!
- 10 minutes by car is Pembroke, a charming medieval walled town which dates back over 900 years and is famous for its Castle. There is a good choice of restaurants, cafes and pubs among the local independent shops.
- If Pembroke Castle inspires you, Manorbier and Carew Castles are also within easy reach. Each castle is different and worth a visit. Another nearby visit is St Govan's Chapel, is a tiny 13th century chapel built into the sea cliff.
- Within a 30 minute drive you can visit the traditional seaside towns of Saundersfoot & Tenby, offer a selection of restaurants & pubs, variety of shops as well as boat and fishing excursions from the pier. Highly recommend a boat trip to Skomer Island.

Introducing
Sarah
Sarah moved to Wales from Gloucestershire in 2021 and lives about half an hour away. She and her family always holidayed in this area and they know and love it. Sarah has chosen very carefully all the original items to give guests an experience they will treasure.
We had the privilege to stay at Coopers Dip Cottage and it was truly awesome! This a beautiful part of the world to explore and the cottage is a perfect base for some amazing walks, incredible beaches and hidden gem restaurants! A great place to rest your legs and put the fire on in the evening. It felt like a home away from home and we did not want to leave! Fantastically presented and hosted. Could not recommend more!
