The Experience
Wake to sea views! This adorable split-level stone cottage has been renovated in harmony with its surroundings. Step into a kitchen/dining room, sweet, simple and well-equipped, with a separate utility room for a dishwasher and washer/drier and a fabulous welcome pack on the table – most of it local, much of it organic. Then it’s up two steps to a charming low-beamed sitting room, its oak floor limed, its beams painted white. Modern sofas heaped with cushions face a wood-burning stove, logs courtesy of the surrounding estate and blue-painted French windows open to a flagstone terrace with a barbecue. On another level is the master bedroom, an inviting and harmonious space: duck-egg blue walls, a view over the fields, a walk-in shower with a heated floor. Two further bedrooms lie upstairs. This is a beautiful cottage where colours are serene, fabrics are fresh, and prints, paintings and furniture (antique and new) add both character and style. Groups can spill over into the manor house or neighbouring cottage. There’s Criccieth for castle and sands, Harlech for history, and glorious walks up in the hills.

Great little cottage: nicely decorated, very functional and well equipped. Good situation near the coast and close to the main attractions. We appreciated the attention to details and felt right at home!

This is a lovely old cosy cottage with thick walls, very comfortable and well decorated. The garden is charming with lovely views but a dog need to be on the lead as walls are low and there is livestock in adjoining fields. Otherwise, simply perfect!

We had a wonderful stay at Tyn Llech. The cottage was exceptionally clean and very relaxing. The furnishings were of a very high standard. Much appreciated. The track by the cottage was perfect for an early dog walk before heading off to explore the surroundings.

Was great to meet Kerrie and find out about the area, some useful tips on where to go. Lovely touch with milk, bread (plus biscuits!) there when we arrived. House was very cosy with big fireplace that added to the character of the building.

A really characterful cottage in a stunning location - the garden gets the afternoon sun and looks over the sea. It was a brilliant layout for our family as the kids and parents were upstairs and the grandparents had their own spacious master. The kitchen isn't the biggest but it's really well equipped and there is a separate utility which was handy for the dog.

It was a great stay. The location was rural down a country lane with sheep in the fields and stone walls all visible from the cottage. The sea and bay were also on view. The location is a real get-away: seclusion, peace and beauty! Inside the cottage the design, furniture and spec is all tasteful and high quality. Every comfort and convenience seems to be provided for including an open fire, food and treats on arrival and guides, books and games for a rainy day. We look forward to going again.

Tyn Llech felt like a home away from home as soon as we stepped inside. The pictures on the website just don't do it justice. The cottage has obviously been restored and maintained with great care and attention, and the comfortable beds were of particular note. And the housekeeper is absolutely outstanding. We enjoyed sitting in the lounge next to a roaring fire, looking out towards St Cynhaearn's Church. We tried our hand at fishing on the lake on the Wern Estate, just up from Tyn Llech, that we had to ourselves. We will undoubtedly be back for more of the same.

Tyn Llech is a wonderfully cosy cottage. We had a lovely pre christmas family break here. The cottage is beautifully furnished, extremely comfortable and exceptionally clean. There is everything you could wish for to make a real home from home. The welcome pack was a lovely treat and the owners were very warm and friendly. Although the weather was not great we enjoyed exploring the beautiful location and coming home to a warm cosy fire with a glass of wine was just perfect.

Local points of interest from Wern Holiday Cottages
- 2000 acre private country estate surrounded by ancient oak woodlands. There are superb views across the Llyn Peninsula from the pretty, private walled garden.
- You can fish in our private lake at a very reasonable cost. Our lake has been stocked solely for the use of our guests.
- Portmeirion is only a short drive away - created by Clough Williams-Ellis (the owner of the cottage is his great nephew) this quirky Italianaite village is full of surprises. Iconic architecture, scenic walks, restaurants, cafes and ice cream parlours!
- Llanbedrog is a charming little seaside village with a superb beach and the most famous line of beach huts in Wales. Visit the Oriel Plas Glyn Y Weddw Gallery - see the owner's (David) sculpture "Louise" in the garden. Lovely tea room with home made cakes
- Black Rock Sands is a must - The beach is so vast that you can drive your car onto it. Perfect for dog walking, shell collecting, windsurfing or just having a good old run about.
- Delightful Welcome Pack - home made cake and jam (using our own fruit of course), coffee, tea and welsh cakes.
