Tucked away on the edge of the Bodnant Estate, across a little bridge over a tumbling stream, this magical cottage is picture-book perfect. On your doorstep are more than 20 miles of private paths and woodlands to explore and Snowdonia National Park is half an hour away, so bring boots.

Inside, the house has been thoughtfully renovated to keep its traditional charm with the welcome addition of some creature comforts. There’s a wood-burner in the impressive stone fireplace and underfloor heating too. The open-plan living area still has its original wooden beam, and French windows lead out onto the patio with a table and chairs. The double ensuite bedroom has a zip-link bed, which can be transformed from a king to a twin.

The kitchen is bright and well-equipped – a welcome basket with wine, coffee, tea and locally made bara brith awaits you, and you can stock up on supplies at the Bodnant Farm Shop just a few minutes’ drive away.
