Glanrhyd Snowdon Cottage

With the mighty river Conwy rolling past at the end of the garden and the village of Betws-y-Coed just a 25-minute walk away, you’re perfectly placed to pull on your hiking boots and explore the magnificence of Snowdonia National Park from this cosy cottage.

And cosy it is. From the two snug double bedrooms there are incredible views down the valley to the mountain Moel Siabod beyond and a sense of the cottage’s 200-year-old history is sunk into every nook and cranny (mind your head on the low passageways). Although there’s a house nearby, the feeling is of complete privacy.

This is Wales so come prepared for the elements. Should the weather gods smile on you, the garden is full of birdsong and bees buzzing, a barbecue area and a fantastic patio right by the river. If you want to hunker down indoors, there are plenty of games and books (and a TV) in the homely sitting room as well as a squishy sofa and toasty wood-burning stove.
