Hawk's Brae

Indoors you’re enveloped in a forest of locally grown Douglas fir, kept cosy with underfloor heating from an air source heat pump and, if you need an extra blast, a wood-burner in the open-plan sitting room. There’s plenty of space with a high, beamed ceiling, a nifty kitchen to one side and French doors to a good-sized terrace area. Here you’ll find a barbecue and a large table for al fresco meals in the safely enclosed garden – lovely to watch the sun set over the hills while you toast marshmallows over the fire pit.

Local shortbread and a tea tray are waiting to welcome you and supplies of sustainable local wood are endless – the hot tub takes about three hours to heat up. Walks from the door are glorious and you can pop into town to stock up with local food.

Bedrooms (one downstairs, one on the mezzanine) have smart robes and local soaps in the modern shower rooms. E-bikes can be hired and there’s a secure lock-up.
